"This was by far the most disappointing hotel of this trip and one I would not choose to stay at again. The room smelled strongly of cigarette smoke upon arrival, despite the hotel being advertised as non-smoking. The rooms are very dated and in need of significant updating. The beds and pillows were also extremely uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. The room was also lacking basic amenities that many travelers expect. There was no fridge, microwave, or coffee maker, which made the stay much less convenient than anticipated. On top of that, guests are charged extra for both parking and breakfast, which felt unreasonable given the overall condition and quality of the hotel. The only positive aspect of the stay was the shower, which was clean, modern, and had great water pressure. Overall, this hotel fell far short of expectations. Between the cigarette smell, uncomfortable accommodations, outdated rooms, lack of basic amenities, and additional charges for parking and breakfast, I cannot recommend it and would not return."

"This place is lovely. Very quiet while being close to everything to see and do in Malahide. The caretaker, Tia, was a wonderful welcome to our stay. She showed us around the property and gave great recommendations for the town. It was our last evening before flying out and Malahide Guest Rooms was a delightful place to relax and unwind."

"We got there early and understandably couldn’t check in early, but the man behind the desk didn’t help us with our bags and just watched as we struggled to get them into an unlocked room. Overall the staff was pretty unhelpful. No rooms have AC and our room was facing the ocean, which was beautiful, but when we got into our room it was HOT and no one bothered to open the window to let in fresh air. There was also no refrigerator in the room, or even an ice machine in the whole hotel. We had to beg the bar to give us some ice to put our room beers in, and they weren’t happy to share. The entire property is large but pretty outdated. The rooms are spacious and you can’t beat the view of the ocean. But be warned this is NOT in Howth but actually Sutton which is 1 train stop from Howth and will take 30+ minutes walking. We didn’t check out the pool. If we came to the area again, we likely wouldn’t stay here again, and would look for a place to rent in Howth."

"This is an old hotel, on a nice walkable beach and the restaurant has good food. It is located a 15 minute drive to the Dublin airport, but there are other nicer hotels with about the same driving time to the airport. This was the second most expensive hotel we stayed in over our 8 days in Ireland, as we picked high-end hotels with parking and breakfast included. We only got free parking here, as the breakfast was not included, a surprise to us. There is no reason for it being so expensive, as our room and the wing where the rooms are located is old and needs repair. The toilet would not flush, the water in our shower was either cool or scalding, the bathroom door dragged on the floor, and our room overlooked a nearly full open dumpster. The window latch was broken, so the window was either fully open or closed. We were not able to get into our room when we got there 30 minutes early, and the receptionist was not friendly. The front desk often did not have anyone there, with people waiting. Would not stay here again. This was the 5th time overnighting at this hotel, the last was 6 years ago, sadly they have really let this hotel deteriorate."
