"As soon as we opened the door, there was a strong, musty odor. The room was clean and the bathroom was much smaller than expected. I thought I was booking a 3-star but was mistakenly looking at a customer comment."
Fairfield by Marriott Inn & Suites Whitsett Greensboro East
10/10 Excellent
"Very nice, clean hotel. It’s not very old as it was recently built so everything still looks new.
Nice free complimentary breakfast and a “bar” to get a nightcap in if you don’t feel like leaving the hotel. There isn’t much in the area around it.
My bathroom door did not close all the way; the door got hung up on the threshold. My colleague who was in the room next to me had the same thing. That’s a construction issue."
"The breakfast provided offered very minimal food choices. Staff were somewhat pleasant in terms of making guests feel welcomed—customer service could use some improvement. The sofa seat pillows in our room appeared to be soiled from past guests and could use cleaning and/or even replacing. Overall, our stay wasn’t terrible. The bed linens and bathroom were clean. "
"Room awful from broken beds to bad plumbing had to move us show a whirl pool tub it's broke said they would refund or discount but have not seen anything yet it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and at 200 a night is crazy was not comfort in Standards at all. "
"This facility, for the most part, lived up to the expectations we have for Hampton Inns. The one way it fell short was that the eggs and potatoes were cold."
"Upon arrival at 10pm, we were informed that our reservation (made 2 weeks earlier through hotels.com) had been canceled because the hotel was fully booked. We had gotten no notification of this; in fact, hotels.com had just sent an email asking how check-in went (and another 2 days later asking g for a review of our stay). We were stuck in Burlington, NC at 10pm with no place to stay, despite having already been charged for 2 nights. The clerk, Miesha, was tremendously helpful and patient. She said she had tried twice to inform Expedia Corp. of the cancellation, but got no response. While we waited, she attempted to contact them again, and also called nearby hotels to inquire about vacancies. It took nearly 2 hours to find a hotel with a vacancy, and we finally got a call back from hotels.com at 11:30pm, offering to "relocate" us (obviously too late for that!). After 45 min on the phone with "John," who was clearly calling from his home, we secured a refund for one night and a rotation to a different hotel in a different town for the next night. I had to ask for compensation for our significant hardship, and was offered only a few hotels.com points for me next booking!
Miesha was great, Hotel Tru looked great, and we thank them for letting us use their lobby to find another hotel. But unfortunately we did not stay there, so are unable to provide a full review."
"Overwhelming nauseating strong fragrance deodarizer was in the room. We immediately got headaches and had to place it outside of our room 4 doors down. Breakfast was all microwave items. Sub par. One of our beds metal cheap frame squeaked so loudly everytime you made the smallest movement."
"Fits the bill for a one night stay while passing through. It was clean but the BR did have a slight odor to it....not sure what it was. Angel, was fantastic checking us in. It was after 9 pm and there were three people ahead of us. He handled it well and was very pleasant. It had "Manager on Duty" as Shawn Patel but he was no where to be seen and I thought if he was around he should be helping Angel get everyone checked in. There were two others behind me. So in total, five people were waiting to be checked in. The breakfast is okay. I would like to have a had a healthy cereal option. Not all of us eat sugar laden cereals like Fruit Loops and Cocco Puffs. It is easily accessible to the interstate and there are several places to eat close by."
