"Set in a beautiful and unique setting, the place provides a great place to stay. Lack of lifts does make it harder to get to the top floors especially with luggage. The only issue were the very heavy fire doors on the bedrooms that made a lot of noise when opened and closed."

"The room was nice in terms of appearance. But the emergency light went off for no reason in the middle of the night and kept us up for a while until we found something to cover it with. The mattress in our room was well worn and had a big dip on one side making it hard to get comfortable on that side. Check in isn't until 4:30 but the majority of the shops close at 5. You need to get here early. Fort Augustus doesn't really have that much to offer. It was nice to walk around a little and see the Loch Ness but I would not recommend staying here overnight. We stayed in 6 different cities while in Scotland and this is the only town I would skip if I could do it again."

"The Stronlossit hotel is situated in a fantastic position to travel to many of the tourist attractions in the Highlands such as loughs Linhe, Neptune's ladder, Lough Ness, many whisky distilleries ( Ben Nevis distillery being less than 30 minutes away). the famous Glenfinnan viaduct, Lough Sheil and the Jacobite train are also near in fort William. The rooms seem to have been recently re-furbished to a very high standard. Much thought has been applied to comfort eg two easy chairs in the room and useful blackout blinds. the restaurants are well laid out and the food offer is excellent. Parking is great and the view of the mountains remind you where you are. By the way Roy Bridge station is virtually across the road opposite."

"I cannot say enough about how beautiful this property is. From the moment you check in the entire staff is so wonderful. The rooms are so spacious & the decor is so gorgeous. Each room is set up with so much care. They have in-house laundry, which is very reasonable price. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The entire property including your rooms are so clean. Wish I could’ve stayed there longer. Such a memorable day."
