BED BUGS & NO REFUND - AVOID AT ALL COSTS Had a terrible experience with Villa Ivka, and Expedia for that matter. After I lay down in bed for an hour to rest after a long travel day, I found numerous bed bug bites on my legs and arms. I knew they were bed bug bites as I had stayed in bed bug room 2yrs ago and these bites were the same. A quick google also shows that the bed bug bites were evident. We contacted the property number on Expedia but the people on the line were a secondary party (Direct Booker, I believe) who could only pass along a message to the villa owners. Unfortunately, after three calls to them and waiting over an hour, they could NOT reach the property owner despite constantly reassuring me “don’t worry, we will take care of it, someone will contact you in 15mins”. By then it was almost 11pm and we contact Expedia who also could not resolve the issue as they also could not reach the property owner, so my partner and I were forced to find an alternative accommodation last minute. No refund was given despite 1. having not stayed in the property for ANY nights, 2. having numerous documented bed bug bites, and 3. all the difficulty that this has caused, including having to pay extra for last minute accommodations, having to book extra taxis to travel to said accommodation, staying up late to try and resolve the issue, wasted time on my vacation, AND worry/concern that the bed bugs would be carried forward to more properties by our clothes. AVOID AVOID
