"First, they accused my husband of smoking in the room over the phone so without even entering the room and also after seeing him outside smoking and asking him then to complete check in procedure since we arrived after normal check in the night before. We are a black family so draw your own conclusions not to mention we have a 5yr old with asthma in our room as well..but ok. The room itself wasnt too bad. After paying $611.11 for the room while he is working and we came to visit with him wyndham expects you pay for housekeeping services meaning you are expected to pay to get new towels and sheets as well when you need them...so you have to keep going down to the desk for them. After checking out maybe 1 1/2 hours after I realized I left my insulin in the fridge. The front desk employee insisted the room had been cleaned already even though seeing it at checkin tells me that's very doubtful but he said they "checked the fridge" themselves and saw nothing but refused to let us come check ourselves barring us from checking under the bed in front of the fridge where it could have rolled under seeing as there are no under bed borders like most hotels have. Mind you this is a necessary $300 medication so I saw no harm in letting us check in detail because if they were in the room looking that means no one has checked in yet. You also are unable to utilize any split pay apps when paying directly through wyndham as you still need the physical card in person. WIFI TERRIBLE"
"The grout in the bathroom was crumbling apart so as I was getting ready in the morning my feet were getting full of grout pieces. Not great on the upkeep of the rooms"
Best Western Plus Dubuque Hotel & Conference Center
8/10 Good
"the review at Best Western did good, clean and personal. Clean room did good job but missed one thing was when I drop dirty towels by door. maid did not bring clean the towels after dropping them off by door. Breakfast was good but need to add some breakfast."
"One of the selling points for picking this hotel was that it had a casino shuttle...if it's no longer available due to COVID then don't advertise it 4 years later"
"The beds need replacing. They are lumpy and bumpy and uneven.
The breakfast area is too cramped for many people to be there serving their food at one time"
"Our weekend went EXTREMELY WELL for how it went for us as we expect, Sooo therefore we DO know how to adapt in a flash. Y’all were ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS with every time my husband went up to the desk. My sincere apologies. Y’all were wonderful. Thank you. Our trip was fun."
