"Really enjoyed the peaceful surroundings! I was just stopping for 1 night on my way north, but wished I could stay longer. The building is historical and the interior vibe is cozy and quaint. Most importantly, the bed was comfortable, the bathwater was hot, and breakfast was excellent. There is a cold breakfast included in the room fee, but I recommend paying the extra £7 for a hot breakfast as you won’t be disappointed! Overall great experience and incredible value for the price."

"A perfect place to stay. Location is right by the side of the solway firth with great views and an array of local birds. The accommodation is of a very high standard and has everything you want. A separate bedroom, bathroom and living room. There is a great range of tea, coffee and hot chocolate and they even supply fresh milk daily. When you stay here you are the only guests which gives you the exclusivity and personal touch. Talking of the personal touch, as it was Easter some chocolate...

"The hotel is a stately home. More like a Manor that is just outside Penpont; Thornhill is just a 5 min drive. It’s located in a gorgeous area surrounded by lovely old oak trees and the Scaur River. Excellent for a good walk. "
