Thank you for your review I can concur about the ceilings I myself forget and bump my head (it seemingly adds to the character of the building) it is something that we are unable to change I hope it wasn't too bad we are working on the building which is near 100 years old but it is a family business and we can only progress slowly. We do have freshly made snacks and sandwiches available 24 hours which should have been on your room information card and we have a new restaurant just a couple of hundred metres along the road from us opening soon , we do sympathise about the taxis if you stay with us in the future ask staff if they can negotiate a deal for you with them sometimes they will do a set price but it is dependant on which driver at which time Hopefully if you are visiting again we can help you enjoy your visit

thank you very much for your review the building is in need of some tlc which we are trying to do as it is coming up for its centenary but we are a family business and like to make sure our guests are our main concern as without them it would just be a big husk we try to make sure that they are looked after as we would like to be! So it is nice to receive this recognition and we are glad we could make your stay pleasurable we hope you enjoyed your cruise and will consider us in future if you are sailing from the port

Thank you for your review we are constantly upgrading the building and our facilities and our customer feedback lets us know where we need to focus our attention when all our rooms are fully refurbished they should all be en-suite and we are upgrading our tv/broadband options at the moment as the design and substance of the building cause us grief with modern technologies hopefully if you return to us in the future you will find improvements in place once again thank you for your time to review us

Good afternoon David, We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your stay with us. The room you booked was not an en-suite, so yes there was no bathroom. It was a double room booked through Expedia and we did upgrade you to an en-suite when this issue was flagged. As we said in our e-mail with your VAT receipt - we had our IT Engineer to test our signal strength for the WiFi and he found that the rooms had a good signal, so again we can only apologize that it wasn't working for you on your arrival. The blocked toilet was from a previous guest who unfortunately ignored instructions not to flush foreign objects down the system and as soon as housekeeping brought it to our attention, it was dealt with. The shower used the same drains - hence why the tray flooded. But we have eradicated the issue since. We have put in our Expedia page that we have no front desk and as Check Out is usually 12pm, there is someone there to take care of payment and VAT receipts, although payments are usually made through Expedia. Our systems were not working as they should have and our Night Porter tried to deal with situation as best he could and we forwarded your VAT receipt via email as quickly as we could. We are a small Family Run Hotel who have only recently opened our rooms; feedback has been generally positive but we do thank you for your honest review as we will use it to improve our services for future guests.

Thank you for your review our building is nearly 100 years old and unfortunately does not lend itself to lifts so we do have stairs (although they allegedly keep you fit ! I have to say it doesn't feel like it ) we have investigated the window and it seems the cleaner closed it by mistake they should open so far for safety we are glad you enjoyed the food and your stay and hope if you are in the area again you look us up we are constantly renovating the place and by the end of it we are looking to have all rooms en-suite and other improvements so please pop in and see our progress !
