"If you need a clean room, comfy bed, and nothing else, then Hotel Garrett is a good option. The location wasn't in the best spot, just 1 block south of the Tenderloin. Parking is an additional cost and very expensive, we ended up using SpotHero to find a parking location that was much more cost friendly. The hotel rooms DO NOT have AC, so just be aware of that. We lucked out with having cooler weather, and were able to crack the windows. I can't imagine staying there in the middle of the summer though. There was also no mini fridge in the room, something to notate when wanting to bring back food/drinks. Their continental breakfast was nice and they offered yummy pastries."

"I love this hotel. It’s my second time staying here. I was bummed that their restaurant was closed for the season. There’s great food a couple doors down and further down the street. You’re by the civic center and lots of other things. Clean rooms, very charming building, extremely helpful front staff, I’d recommend staying here to anyone."

"Great location if you need to be downtown. We were there for two nights for a show at Bill Graham and it was great walking to everywhere. Only thing I would have changed is that the “view” that I paid extra for was not viewable from anywhere in the room except the bathroom. Plus the room was quite tiny. Other than that, positive experience. "

"So this place has a certain charm about it. If you think “music” or “music industry” this place screams it. I can’t begin to rave about the guys at the front desk enough. They are AWESOME! They offered tons of information, and insight to the neighborhood."

"All staff I interacted with was super nice. Parking was secure (locked at night), just a bit challenging to get into the very narrow spots. Continental breakfast was fairly basic and it would have been nice if there had been a microwave to warm up the provided egg bites. But at least there is enough to eat to get you on the road. "
