The room was spacious and beautiful. Staff were welcoming and gracious. Room stayed nice and warm after adjusting the heater. Facilities were original but remodeled. Could definitely use hotter water in the shower as well as the bathroom faucet. Shower drain maintenance was lacking, as I had to clear a hair clog myself in order to have a satisfactory shower after family members told me the shower didn't drain very well and had lots of standing water.
All in all a satisfactory stay for the price in a beautiful older building, but with a few maintenance items that could be improved.
This was absolutely perfect, the room was gorgeous, the beds were super comfy and the staff were very friendly. Nice and quiet on a night too. Would definitely stay here again in the future and couldnt recommend it more.
Quick visit for access to Edinburgh Airport bus the gollowing morning. 100 metres to Drum Brae South stop. Very pleasant rooms and bed quite comfortable.
The hotel is a short 2 minute walk to the nearest bus stop with buses leaving regularly to and from the city center (a 30-minute bus ride). It is also only 2-3 stops from the Edinburgh Zoo. Breakfast is available, but not included, and is a little pricey, even for the cheapest- the 'continental style' breakfast.
The staff was incredibly welcoming and lovely and the hotel was really well maintained. For a room that accomodated 4 adults, it was quite spacious and the beds were comfortable. It's only a 20 min bus ride into the city centre and it's well connected with public transport.

Family stay
Enjoyed our 3 night stay; friendly staff, central location. Only problem were noisy water/central heating pipes through the night?! Kept us awake in Room 26!
We were greeted by a lovely staff member close to 9:00pm. Easy check in. Very quiet area. If stairs are an issue you will need to request a downstairs room. No elevator. Our room was pleasant and clean. Perfect location only 3 stops from the airport.

The property was reasonably priced and in a good location. We had good night’s sleep on both nights of our stay and were comfortable. Breakfast was not included but reasonable for the price of £9.95 (continental). The porridge was excellent! The decor was quite tired and it was quite dark inside. The dining room had an aroma of fried food. The staff were flexible and we were able to change rooms as the original room was at the top of quite a steep staircase and very hot and airless. Our second room was larger, more airy and had a seating area which looked out onto the garden and was pleasant.
Room was nice and clean and spacious. Not many amenities (coffee fixins). An easy bus ride to town and airport. Staff was kind and helpful when asked specific questions but not very visible otherwise.
On a bus route. Just bit further out of town from Edinburgh Zoo. Friendly welcome at the door as we arrived. Nice clean quiet room with double bed & single bed, & en-suite with shower & bath. Nice views out over garden. Peaceful night. Very helpful hosts. Hopefully we will be back.

The lodge staff were kind and helpful however the room felt dark and musty. I could hear people talking and moving around in adjoining areas. Shower small. Probably would not suit anyone over 150 lbs. or 5'10'. For the price it seemed below average. It was close to bus service and grocery stores. Kind of a weird check-in process.
This was a good hotel outside of the Edinburgh city center, giving it more of a less-crowded and noisy feel. There is a bus stop just down the street, along with a Lidl and McDonald's as well as several cafes and sit-down restaurants. The rooms are decorated beautifully in a Victorian style. You have to park on a side street nearby, so depending on how many other cars are parked there (it's a residential neighborhood) it's a bit of a trek up/downhill. Hotel staff were very pleasant and accommodating. There is an option to pay for a hot breakfast in the mornings. The only thing I was not a fan of here was the strong perfume/incense smell inside our room that kind of hit the nostrils.

The location was conveniently close to the airport. However my room was tiny, and it was right under the roof. There was no air conditioning or fan and only the only window (in the roof) could not be kept open. The room wasn't aerated by other means either and quickly adopted a hot and humid climate. I didn't sleep well at all. The other thing I didn't like was the bathroom with a shower that was served by a tiny on-demand heater that provided a very minimal flow of hot water and no hot water at all at the vanity.
Absolutely amzing, best sleep ive ever had. Me and my daughter. The staff were amazing. The place is beautiful and very clean the rooms are very relaxing, we didnt eant to leave.
