Prestonfield House is like an oasis in central Edinburgh. It is a beautifully maintained period house with nice grounds. The staff were excellent. I had a party of Thai friends for dinner and they loved both the atmosphere and the dinner itself.

Beautiful hotel, fantastic Christmas decorations, all magical. Staff couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful, all very welcoming. Evening meal and breakfast were delicious. Perfection.

Great stay!

Was brilliant. Service, personnel and room was amazing.
In this dining room have sat Benjamin Franklin, Dr Samuel Johnson and James Boswell, Sir Winston Churchill, and the Queen Mother. The painted panels are those from mid-18th century.
In the beautiful yellow drawing room opposite the dining room, the Queen Mother used to sit in the chair below the mirror to have a champaign, as her helicopter could land in the grounds.

Everything about his property was incredible. It feels like you’re in the country but it is a quick and inexpensive ride to get into the city. The restaurant is amazing and the entire staff were simply the best we’ve experienced at any stay we have booked. I can’t recommend Prestonfield House enough.
