Hotel is very large and offers many amenities, but it was a maze to our room. The room was well appointed, but the carpet and the furniture show signs of heavy use. The bathroom was immaculate and has lovely toiletries. The staff was so helpful and made sure we were welcomed.

This was a two part stay because we liked the hotel and location so much we canceled a reservation and booked another room here. I visited a lot of hotels in Edinburgh and stayed at one other. The Intercontinental is an excellent choice if staying in one hotel in Edinburgh. Recommend a higher floor (6 or 7) in the newer part because you will get some sort of view over the city, but it's not essential.

From the greeting at the entrance to the staff at reception everyone was friendly and proved a pleasant experience of being greeted with a smile. The hotel room was clean and well appointed with a lovely view. The hotel is located in a perfect location for seeing the city. Restaurants and shopping are on the door steps. I walked to the Royal Botanics and the old town. I will stay at the Intercontinental again in my next visit to Edinburgh.
