"I had a very disappointing and unacceptable experience at Dolphin Sands Hotel in the Tampa/Clearwater area. The room I was given was nothing like what was advertised. The “city view” balcony was misleading—it faced a roof and the side of another building, not a true view. The cleanliness was unacceptable. There was used toilet paper left on the bathroom floor and a dirty towel in the room, which clearly indicated the space had not been properly cleaned prior to my arrival. To make matters worse, there was a rat trap placed near the balcony area, which is completely inappropriate and concerning for any guest. I immediately requested a refund upon seeing the condition of the room but was given a difficult time by staff. I left the hotel right away and later spoke with a manager over the phone. Although I was refunded 75% of my stay, they claimed it was because I had “used the linens,” which is completely false. This experience was extremely frustrating. Between the misleading room description, serious cleanliness issues, and poor handling by staff, I would strongly caution others before booking h"

"Lea from the front office was nice. She upgraded our room to a suite for free, but the suite seemed very much like what you would normally expect. Not her fault for sure, but just the same a disappointment. The bed was very uncomfortable, which is unusual for a comfort suite inn hotel."

"Pros: Within walking distance to the beach Within walking distance to restaurants, gas station, and ice cream The pool is clean The mattress was okay The mini fridge worked great Cons: Outdated property Mold-like substance in the bathroom Our door handle/swipe card was not always working (took 5/6 swipes to capture the green light) and the door had to be shoved to open it The pillows are super flat, took 2 days and asking 4 people to finally get a couple more of them lol The noise…we had requested the 1st floor due to my fiancés recent joint surgery. The walls are super thin, you can hear everything outside, when we first got there maintenance walked in on us, someone tried to get into the room later in the night but thankfully I had all the extra locks in place, and I was able to play white noise loud enough from my phone to drown out some of the noise. Overall: If you like a cheaper rate and decent proximity, this is a decent stay. If you require quiet rest, peaceful surroundings, and amenities- this is not the place for you. "

"Room was clean and had the best view. We chose a balcony room. It was amazing. Breakfast was great. It was a continental breakfast. Staff were all so friendly especially Gina at the front desk. I would most definitely stay here again. "

"The hotel location is great. However the condition of the hotel is really terrible. The bathroom was rusty and no ventilation that made it smelly as well. The curtains were ripped. The clothes hanging bar was rusty as well. The staff were friendly but the rooms need a lot of love and simple basic changes to make it decent and worth your money. We won’t stay at it ever again! "
