"It was a short stay before a bigger trip. We enjoy the ease of renting a car right there and the wonderful tips the concierge provided for our trip around the island. The market and pharmacy across the walking street bridge was very convenient for picking up those few things we forgot. The room was clean and comfortable. My 6’5 husband enjoyed the rain shower immensely. The pool was big and beautiful with a lot of chairs around it. It looked magnificent from our room (pearlescent shimmer from the tiles). The Wednesday night Polynesian show was awesome but I recommend getting there early to get a good spot so that others won’t stand in front of you and block your view"

"Bedbugs!!! We stayed here one night prior to going to our luxury resort in Bora Bora. The wife and I stayed in separate beds. Three days later I developed horrible itching lesions that are consistent with bedbug bites. My wife never developed any and we stayed in the same bed at our subsequent resort. She never had any type of bite marks, do they must have been in my bed at this hotel. The timing works out."

"I booked a room and when I got to the hostel they told me they had already given it to other people and that the system had failed. It was late and I was alone with my daughter in a foreign country. They only offered a simple apology and did not bother to help us to find accommodation at all. Afterwards, I had to go back to get a cancellation letter just to make sure they wouldn’t charge me for the room they did not give me. It was a horrible experience. The hostel itself and the staff were very horrible as well."

"An excellent hotel downtown Papeete right across the road from the ferry terminal and close to everything you need. The hotel is very clean, the room was spacious, including a kitchenette and a table, balcony overlooking the port. The staff were polite and helpful. The restaurant on the top floor was also excellent, one of the best we went to in French Polynesia. The only shortcoming was that the stand-alone tub has no shower curtain, so if you are taking a shower it's difficult not to flood the bathroom."
