"The hotel is not modern but has modern upgrades in the rooms and is right on the waterfront. It is the only property for about 4 km so a car is necessary (also needed for the beaches). The restaurant food is high quality. The staff were helpful and eager but they were understaffed while we were there, so seem rushed all the time. "

"We haven’t been in an HI hostel in a long time (in our 70s) but were very happy with our overnight stay in HI Aveiro. Staff were lovely, the room and en-suite were very clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast was excellent. We walked to it from the bus station via the beautiful park. Not many eateries in the immediate neighbourhood (apart from a McDonalds almost opposite) but only 15 minutes on foot to the many restaurants/cafes in the town centre. "
