Excellent location, walkable from the train station. Some trouble checking in & room wasn't as described but was sorted out the next day. Most staff were on the ball and very congenial. Food was excellent, afternoon tea was delicious, highly recommend the tea salon in the main restaurant. Lovely area, very historic and close to shopping and dining for a nice walk.

Very convenient for town, beautiful walks along The Leas. Hotel very clean and staff helpful. Room on top floor, corridor very narrow for large luggage and floor in bedroom uneven with a slope so if your elderly or unsure with your footing could cause a fall, but ok once you remember it’s there. But really enjoyed my stay

I stayed in a quiet room on the 3rd floor facing the courtyard so it was super quiet which I appreciated. Friendly staff, shout out to Maj who ran the dining area - always welcoming and provided excellent service.
