"A pleasantly surprising stay in the Saumur/ Doué-la-Fontaine area of the Loire. Woke up to birdsong and quiet , and a great breakfast in their large conservatory. Service excellent and helpful. "Hotel is situated a little tucked away from the main area, but it’s a small town and easy to get around. We were not able to check in before 3pm, and were asked to ring the buzzer every time to be let in. It was a little confusing, but we managed. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the bathroom was luxurious. We enjoyed our stay, but we also barely spent any time in it as there is so much to do around Saumur. Everything is within walking distance, even the train station (although...

Top Forges Hotel Reviews

Fontevraud L'Ermitage

10/10 Excellent

"What a magical place! The peace and tranquility of this lovely hotel is fabulous. We had a garden room which was really special. Don’t miss enjoying the restaurant. The food is wonderful!"

Hôtel Anne d'Anjou,The Originals Collection

10/10 Excellent

"Nicely located just under the castle. Rooms are great on the 1st floor, a little smaller on the rest of the property. The small pool is a nice touch. Beware, No restaurant in the hotel!"

Château Le Prieuré - La Maison Younan

10/10 Excellent

"The château is beautiful. The room was well appointed and the dinner and the chef are amazing. There are really beautiful scenes of the river and the surrounding area is so gorgeous."

Quality Aparthotel Saumur

8/10 Good

"Very strange. Nobody said that we would be literally staying in an old people's home!"

Les Terrasses de Saumur Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good

"Studio has everything you need for a self-sufficient stay. Loved eating outside on our private terrace. Is mostly renovated with a few dated fixtures. Good but firm bed."

Best Western Adagio

8/10 Good

"Good location (very close to the train station and downtown) and relatively quiet for being located on a major road at a major intersection. The building is nice, solidly constructed with spacious rooms and high ceilings. The room needs some updating in terms of decor and there are little touches that show a lack of very careful attention to maintenance (curtains that aren’t attached completely at the top of the window, dead mosquitoes on the sheer curtains). A little more careful attention to these details would go a long way to improving the first impression. That said, the room was spacious (a corner room -05) and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were welcoming and pleasant. All in all, I recommend this hotel and would stay again on another visit to the Saumur area."

Brit Hotel Saumur

10/10 Excellent

"Quick lady check in. Clean, comfortable room."

Loire & Sens

8/10 Good

"Large and clean rooms. Not all rooms have an AC. Problem with breakfast - we came at 9:15 and were told that the eggs run out. Pastries were cold and the variety is poor."

Kyriad Angers Pont De Ce

10/10 Excellent

"What a find excellent stop over with working air conditioning for these heatwaves. Nice and quiet and close to shopping centre restaurant looked good but didn't use it this time. Tea and coffee making facilities and TV all you need while travelling. We will return for sure."
