"Lovely, well equipped, cosy little apartment ideally located for activities on Loch Ness and beautiful walks in a variety of terrain and easy reach of Fort Augustus and Inverness, some right from the doorstep. Lots of nice welcoming touches and the owners responded quickly to request for information. Good shower over the deep bath but it’s a bit slippery and a couple of grab rails and a non slip mat would improve safety for those with mobility issues wanting to immerse themselves in a soothing...

"Room was clean, bed comfy, nice surprise that the tv was in the bottom of the bed! Shower was a bit dirty round the door with gunk and the door didn’t close properly so ended up mopping a big puddle after use. For the quality and standard of the hotel I thought the shower would have been more upgraded than it was but that was the only thing and just my personal preference. Also our room was situated right above the kitchens we think so at 7am all the air con units fired up right outside our window, which wasn’t ideal. Apart from that it was excellent!!"

"The best thing about this place is their staff. Mr Choba, the manager was extremely helpful from the very start and helped us to locate the property because the GPS directions were not helpful, and subsequently, during check in and after. Our room was facing the Loch ness so the view was serene. The staff serving us breakfast were superb and the ladies must be congratulated for their wonderful manners and professionalism. The breakfast was superb with even vegan croissant available for my wife, which we rarely see in bigger chain hotels. The only downside, which we did not realise when booking, was that the rooms, although nice and cosy, are really small and so is the double bed. The bathroom sink is very old fashioned with separate hot and cold water taps with no way to mix."

"I struggled on how to review this property. In some ways the property is amazing and in other ways it could use some work. This property is very unique and set in a beautiful spot on Loch Ness. There a lot of things for kids to do on property. We loved sitting on the benches by the boat house looking out over the loch. The rooms are individually owned apartments. Our room was okay, but not the best. The furniture and area rug had stains. The toilet was difficult to operate. We were there in July and it was pretty warm. Being on the top floor with no AC was uncomfortable at times. It was nice to have a washer/dryer, refrigerator, and stove/oven in the room. Overall we would definitely stay at this property again but maybe try to get a different room."

Achnabobane Farmhouse

"The first thing I will say is I did not know we had booked a room with a shared bathroom. It didn’t say anything about this in the room details so I would say this was surprising and then you’re sharing with at least 3 rooms. When we arrived the host told me quite abruptly that I had parked in 2 spaces. The other guest had parked poorly and made it impossible to fit 2 cars in so I feel they should have spoken to that guest instead of having a grievance with us. The host is accommodating with dogs in allowing his garden space to be used and by providing poo bags, but they also expect your dog to be put into your car whilst you eat breakfast. They did allow us to leave the dog in our room on the 2nd day but only due to the fact the dog set off the car alarm several times whilst we tried to eat. The breakfast times are regimental and controlled as well - 8 until 8.15 to enter and that’s it. Never experienced such a controlled short time window to eat breakfast. I read so many comments about a great breakfast there but I found the bacon to be soggy and the sausages barely cooked. I have rated the place well in terms of what they’ve asked me on here but if there was a rating for hospitality then I would rate low. The guest should not be so controlled like this when trying to relax."
