This historic hotel is a jewel. The rooms were tastefully decorated, comfortable, and quaint. I would definitely suggest it to others headed to the McDonald Observatory or to Big Bend. The desk clerk was very knowledgeable and helpful about the area.

Very nice indeed, and the lovely fireplace was a nice touch. Room very clean and pleasant. Well maintained. The coffee in the morning was not neither hot nor strong enough, however.

The rooms size was great. Since it's historic it has wood floors, this caused the only issue. We could hear the neighbors walking around. We took our dogs and they were warmly greeted by the staff. The room we were in had two separate bedrooms with ensuites, an entryway/ living room, a full kitchen, and a single car carport!
