Highgate Independent, Fort Lauderdale hotels

"Hotel is in the hart of Las Olas, beacon of the Ft Lauderdale, walk able distance everywhere.. Antique but elegant building, so many events going on.. pet friendly, they had K9 and drink event, with live piano music. Restaurants, bars and pools. Located right by river cruses. Staff were very friendly, we have arrived 4 hours early and we did not expected to be checked in for 4 hours. Turns out they found the room ready for us on the spot. Bars have a happy hour from 3-7 for drinks, and 5-7 for food. One side of the hotel entrance is directly on Las Olas , with a patio bar. The other side is on river docks, large boat house restaurant with swimming pool and all the amenities. This place is a jewel of Ft Lauderdale."

"The front desk clerk when I checked in was super friendly and helpful. The morning front desk guy, however, was super rude and cranky. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations; the pool had no water in it. But the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Good value for the price."

"The roomas are clean and modern but the hallway needs to be cleaned as rug looked dirty and smelled. Also the dorrs need to be wiped down and paintes. The Reception area needs to be more modern. Ne or two reception were not too friendly. Also be aware if the piblic parking issue qhich the hotel is not responsibke for and is quite expensive if you have a car. "
