"Check in was incredibly awful, 40 mins in 35 degree heat outside because the property owner did not send a valid door code. Ended up calling hotels.com who managed to sort but at a cost in phones, patience and valuable holiday time as well as cooking in the heat. Dreadful check in.... cannot recommend for this reason by itself. Found last occupants' food in the microwave.... otherwise property was ok. Beware, check in appears to be issue looking at previous reviews - avoid... "

"Everything was good, there was a shower/ bath, laundry machine with detergent, cooking utensils and so on. Only issue I had was small ants on the table. Everything under budget and no noise from neighbours. "

"Hotel Gate was a fantastic place to stay. It is in a perfect location that is walking distance to the ferry terminal and shopping/dining area. The airport limousine bus has service very nearby as well. The balcony was an excellent place to relax after long days site seeing, and something that I'm not used to in many hotels. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Umbrellas were available to borrow, which was incredible when it was raining heavily and I had forgotten to pack one!"

"The property looks better in the photos than in real life, the location is OK, not great though. The staff are friendly and the room was very clean and bed comfortable. Room furniture is old and not comfortable. For a business traveler or a young traveler looking for a comfortable place to crash for a night or two this place is a great deal."
