The building and settings are all so unique and beautiful. View is great. Service was awesome. So close to Joomoonjin fish market and ocean. We did not plan to go to Joomoonjin but ended up loving the fish market and restaurants there. Gangneung Kyungpodae is 15 minute away too. Our kids and we all loved everything there. We are looking forward to the letter that our kids wrote being delivered one year later. 호텔 너무 이뻐서 놀랐고 서비스 좋아서 놀랐어요. 강릉인줄 알고 예약했는데 사실 주문진이 더 가깝고 강릉도 무지 가까와서 좋았어요. 주문진 수산시장속 횟집 넘 맛나고 경포대도 가까와 하루 묶고 떠나기 아쉬웠습니다. 일년뒤 도착할 편지가 기대되네요.

Simply lovely!
My family and I stayed 2 nights at November. We were totally awed by the beauty of this place upon arrival and immediately i hoped that I had more time to stopover Gangwon Do. Kang was there to welcome us when we arrived. Both Kang and his staff helped us with our baggages as we have quite alot of bags. Really thankful for that. We drove 5hrs from Busan and was really exhausted by the time we reached November. Kang’s warm reception and refreshments touched our hearts. He was eager to share with us where to visit and also given us some info with regards to the location of the attractions so that we could plan our itinerary better. We had a huge room with great views and waking up to fresh air and views was a plus point. Like what other reviews have mentioned, breakfast was delicious! Both korean and western options. I especially like the korean breakfast, soup was really refreshing and tasty! There is a huge lounging area next to the lobby too, with a foosball table for recreation. I must say the entire place was very well decorated and soft music was played outdoors. It makes the pension feel very romantic. My 5 year old daughter loves the pension too! She was running around everyday, awed by the building structure and the views. And also, she would ask for Uncle Kang everyday while we were there too! Goes to show how warm and friendly Kang is! We will sure be back to visit again in the near future! Thank you Kang and your staff for the warm hospitality!

Stayed for one night for Paralympic. It was a beautiful place with great ocean view and nice breakfast. Would highly recommend if you are traveling to eastern side of Korea

It was our second visit to November after a year from first one. Local area is small and quiet, room was clean with enormous tub (choose JY type) and great view -- it's a perfect romantic getaway for couples.

A nice (somewhat hidden) gem
I booked this hotel for one night in late October for a short trip I took over to South Korea's east coast. This place was a very welcome and pleasant surprise, as it seems that hotels in this part of the country struggle to meet the standards of most larger cities. Hotel November is set up a hill, about a 5-10 minute walk down to the seafront restaurants and the beach. It commands great views over the rooftops and the Sea of Japan. I was treated like royalty, which was great, but really made me wish that I wasn't travelling alone. ;-( This place has some charm, while its amenities and elegant touches make it ideal place for a romantic getaway. The room was very spacious and comfortable. A nice touch were all the ingredients to make a fantastic cup of coffee in the room. The lounge was comfy and the outdoor deck/seating areas were gorgeous ... I could just imagine how nice it would be in summer weather (my October trip meant that it was cool and windy) with the view and the salt air. I ventured down the hill for dinner at one of the local Korean restaurants. Even though I don't speak Korean and none of the wait staff did either, we managed through smiles, gestures and iphone translators to get me fed! All in all, my short solo stay at Hotel November was memorable. Some day, maybe I'll get back there as part of a couple to really enjoy all its comforts and romance!

A must stay when you travel to Gangneung
I have never received such a warm welcome from a hotel. The manager was very nice and helpful. Wish we could stay longer. I will definitely return if we get the chance to visit Gangneung again.

Nice place with a fabulous view!
Although difficult to find (at night), this hotel was well worth the search. The staff greeted my family with lots of smiles and treated us like royalty. They brought fresh hot chocolate to our room as a welcome and cooked us a wonderful, fresh breakfast in the morning! The manager personally met us in the morning to welcome us and thanked us for staying. The Hotel November is awesome!!

A gem not to miss when traveling in Gangwondo
The stay at Hotel November was more than excellent! We went there with high expectations due to all the great reviews. We were not let down at all. The hotel itself and all the staff still exceed our expectations. Hotel is well decorated and you can tell that people put their hearts in the decorations. We felt like at home and were so relaxed in the hotel. The hotel is so spacious and so many places to enjoy and relax. We decided to spend one day in the hotel without going anywhere, except lunch and dinner time. And I must add that even when the hotel is so big and spacious (with only 11 rooms), the whole place is really clean. If you stay at Hotel November, you should try their "Glamping"' a glamorous camping. Very nice experience for us. And I must add on that the owner and all the staff are so friendly and accommodating. They treat us like their family. And I must mention manager Kang, who had been helpful in answering so many of my emails even before I arrive Hotel November. And his English is excellent! I rarely write reviews but I must do this to express my gratitude and LIKE to Hotel November!

The place is furnished with tasteful antiques. Manager Mr. Kang's hospitality begins when you make the reservation. Upon check-in, the staff receives you with a personal welcome note and tea and refreshments. You can write letters to yourself or your loved ones, which they will keep for a year and mail it to the address you leave. Can't wait!

A truly charming hotel (with little minuses)
The hotel (a pension, actually, as it defines itself) was everything it was reviewed to be - a charming, Western-style hotel by the sea; excellent welcome service. Possibly one of the most charming hotels in Korea, although the neighbourhood (Yeongjin Beach) is not as refined a destination as, say, Jeongdongjin, further down the Korean east coast. The washroom I had was small and surprisingly spartan, granted that it was the attic room that I had. On the whole, I would comfortably rate it safely above all other hotels in that region of the country, and a stay I would remember for a long time.

Excellent Service and Awesome View
This is one of the best hotels I've stayed in Korea. Although it really isn't a hotel it provides one of kind service. I recommend this hotel for any occasion. If you don't have a car, getting there might be some challenge, but it definitely is worth all that trouble.

Excellent Hotel with Exceptional Service
This was one of the most pleasant stays we have ever had. The hotel itself was beautiful, clean, and above all, exceptional service. We definitely recommend it if you are traveling to Gangneung. From the very beginning, you could tell that the hotel staff really cared about service and making this a special experience. They brought out tea, had events planned out, and offered service without being overwhelming. The hotel was also new, clean, and stylish, with little touches from the owner that made you appreciate the experience. The hotel is located up a hill and faces the ocean, giving a great view of the harbor. The room was also spacious, certainly big enough for a larger family. Me and my girlfriend absolutely loved the experience and will be coming back whenever we are traveling to the East Coast.

A little slice of heaven is South Korea!!
I stayed at Hotel November with my family 2 adults + 2 kids (11 & 8) in late Dec 2014. I have traveled extensively both high end and budget and this would have to be one of the best hotels I have ever had the pleasure of staying in. From the moment I booked this hotel the personal service began from the hotel Manager Mr Kang he helped with advising the buses that we could take to get from Seoul to our next hotel then to his and back and it was spot on, so easy and simple. When we arrived at this beautiful hotel instantly you felt welcome and that they were truly happy that you had come to experience "Hotel November" on arrival we were given a Korean Tea and cake and a photo was taken of us that was later placed in an envelope with letters we wrote to ourselves that will be delivered in 1yrs time. The rooms are large & beautiful in a homely way and super romantic even though I had my children in toe I wished I had booked at least 5 days here and made it my base to explore the area you could easily get to the ice festival in Jinbu and the snow fields from this hotel. We did the glamping experience in the teepee cooking our own Korean BBQ, all of us thought it was great definitely recommend doing this. I will definitely return to Hotel November hopefully next time in the summer so we can swim, relax and be pampered by Mr Kangs staff again, thank you for such a wonderful stay it was the highlight of our trip to Korea.

레트로풍의 사진 남기기, 풍경은 좋으나 시설이 낡고 들어갔을 때 쾌쾌한 냄새가 오래 빠지지 않았음. 이불이나 동선, 이용할 수 있는 시설물이 낡고 바퀴벌레 나올것 같은 느낌으로 불쾌했음. 식사와 친절함은 최고였으나 손님 받으려면 꼭 리모델링과 침구류 개선이 필요. 상태대비 가격이 비쌈. 후기 평점이 높은 이유를 찾기 어려움. 타 앱에 비해 평점에 신뢰가 높아 호텔을 평점으로 선택했는데 이번으로 앱 신뢰실추~~~

주차함과 동시 반갑게 맞이해주던 직원의 에너지가 너무 좋았습니다~ 장시간 드라이브의 피곤함이 싹 녹는듯했고 웰컴티로 주신 뱅쇼도 추위를 녹게 해주며 구석구석 예쁘지 않은 곳이 없었습니다~ 21년이나 되었다는게 믿겨지지않을정도로 건물 관리가 잘 되어있었고 마치 유럽 작은 마을 호텔에 여행갔다온 기분이었습니다~^^. 1박 2일동안 힐링 잘하고 왔어요. 감사합니다~~

유럽의 B&B 같은 느낌의 호텔. 스태프분이 아주 친절하셨음. 짐도 옮겨주시고, 계란후라이도 해주시고 ㅎㅎ 방은 넓고 잘 꾸며져 있었고...웰컴드링크, 커피, 야식까지도 챙겨주셨음. 다만 아쉬운건 청소상태, 수건등이 특급호텔수준은 아닌걸 감안해야함. 액세스가 아주 간편하진 않으나 전반적으로 아주 좋은 위치에 있음. 도보 5분거리에 좋은 식당과 멋진 카페들이 있음.

아늑한 시설에 친철한 직원분들
사장님과 직원분들이 너무 친절하십니다. 시설은 오래되긴 했으나 엔틱한 느낌으로 복고풍 느낌이라 아늑해서 좋았고 와이프랑 아들도 다시 꼭 오자고 할 정도입니다. 저도 왠만한 5성급 호텔을 가도 기억에 남는 여행은 흔치 않았는데 여기는 호텔이라기보다는 친척집에 들러서 맘 편하게 쉬고 온 느낌입니다. 내년에도 강릉 여행을 가게되면 꼭 다시 오고 싶습니다.
