The property was the perfect introduction to Iceland for me. The property has a unique and beautiful character to it. It's obviously a labor of love. It's also kept and maintained well. And its location allows me to enjoy the ocean up close and revel in its isolated location, ideal for viewing Aurora. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

We stayed here at the start and the end of the trip. The way out was amazing, beautiful property however very disappointed on the return. There is a lot of variability between accommodations. It wasn’t set up for three people, the hair dryer didn’t work, the pillows were awful. I hate leaving less than positive reviews but I was dissapointed on the return.

hi sorry to hear that you did not like it. however you can always contact us and we can help with almost everything, there is a switch for the hairdryer to turn it on, and it is no problem for us to come and make the room for more people and to change the pillows. hope you have a good day!

Was able to see the Northern Lights as it isn’t a highly light polluted area, bathroom was set with new towels and cleaned everyday, very quiet area and the hottub was amazing. Would stay again if I came back to Iceland

This property has absolutely stunning views. On top of that the place is clean, comfortable, and quiet. The sauna and hot tub are great bonuses. Would highly recommend to anyone!

very cool and unique place to stay. perfect if you have a car for your trip. kind of impossible to get to without car. very warm cosy cabins and amazing views. sauna and hot tub are amazing to have for your stay but they could be a bit warmer in my opinion. very clean. fresh towels and bed sheets provided every day. loads of parking and smooth check in and check out experience. would highly recommend for drivers in Iceland !!!

If you want to see the northern light, this hotel is great for you. But do not expect any service. The safe did not work, they said they would come, but nobody came. We did not know how to lock the door, called and nobody came after two international calls. The worst thing is in the mid-night, someone used their key to open our room and insisted he had this room. It is so scary.

Beautiful surroundings, very easy check in, key was left in the room for us. Plenty of spaces to park. Room was very clean and comfortable with robes for the hot tub. Heating was perfect.

Lovely little find out the way of the centre but a close 15 minute drive We was so fortunate to see the northern lights both nights we stayed here! Would most definitely stay again

This place was an amazing property and the perfect icelandic stay. We had an issue only because the property stated that it had a sofa bed and we thought we were booked for 4 people, but that sofa bed was not a pull out sofa or an extra bed. I do believe it may have been a mistake on our end or on expedia. The man was very helpful and answered phone calls even though we checked in late at night. The check in process was also slightly confusing because it says self check-in but you do have to call the facility to request your room #. This was confusing because we were unsure if we had to drive physically to the office 15 mins away or just call, so I recommend you call and get your room number in advance. Overall, would stay hete again in a heartbeat for much longer, especially now that i know the check-in process is so easy. Thank you for our stay.

The most quaint, adorable, ideal location to stay at when traveling. It’s a recreated lil fishing village just perfect. I slept with the window open to hear the waves crashing against the rocks. So magical.

20 min from Reykjavík. 10 min from Costco! It was the perfect location to be outside of town and secluded and quiet. Super cute clean and comfortable. So nice to be near water also. We saw the northern lights there which is why I booked it in first place in hopes if it did show up it would be dark enough to see it and it was magical!

My stay was comfortable and quiet. Exactly what I needed for my solo trip. Felt perfectly safe. Area is scenic and feels rural but is still very close to town. Ate dinner twice at Viking Village - food is excellent and I loved the Viking whimsy. Definitely hope to return.

Great base for exploring!
Great stay! Excellent location. Remote, but close enough to amenities and city.very comfortable beds.good shower. Room is just big enough. However, the room has 4 beds, we booked in as 3. I was disappointed to see that there were just 2 small cups and 2 glasses, surely the facilties should at least reflect the number of guests. Also outside my room was a empty fish pond. This was lit up and the lights were shining into my room all night, this also negated the darkness needed for star gazing and northern lights. But we enjoyed it and it was nice hearing the tide coming in every morning. We also saw the volcano. Our thoughts with the people Grindavik.

Great stay in a remote village
We stayed here one night and the room was quite comfortable. The dinner buffet was wonderful with many options to choose from. We had pan fried fish, fish ceviche, lamb meatballs, Swedish meatballs, roasted potatoes, roasted root veggies, Greek salad and green salad, and more to choose from. The bread is a must! Desserts were cheesecake and brownies. There are no other restaurants in the area and so it was wonderful to have a lot of options to choose from. Breakfast the next morning had quite a few options as well.

Beautiful little gem.
Absolutely wonderful place to stay. It is perfect for those who want peace and beauty away from a city environment. The accommodation itself is wonderful, peaceful, exceptionally clean and cozy. Beautiful views. Hot tubs were fantastic and lovely and hot with amazing views. Our only issue was that we booked here specifically for the added use of the hot tubs and sauna but sauna was not working for the 3 days we were there. Emailed hotel and were promised it would be fixed but it wasn't. Emailed again and got no response. However I would highly recommend and not let this lack of communication put you off.

The hotel is a very condition. It is clean, modern and comfortable. The only thing that hate is that the property has a lot birds in cages.... it is terrible!!!!!!! Cruel!!!!!

This property is serene, away from everything else which provides you with complete tranquility. Setting is one of a kind which also limits your dining options or rather forces you to travel for food. We booked a superior room for 3 (pictures are misleading as it makes you think that the superior room has two stories but it doesn’t) but when we got there all amenities in the room were set for 2, including beds. We were provided with one bed that was comfortable for 2 and there was also sofa (not sofa bed) which was not made. Upon calling reception, room attendant came to place and set up the bedding on top of the sofa (which was extremely hard) which was not suitable for sleeping. Moreover, the entire room lacked counter space/shelves to accommodate 3 for 2 nights. Not only the the bathroom didn’t have any counter space but had smallest sink we have ever seen and when the water was running in the sink, it splattered all over the floor. As such, making even the smallest task like washing your face in the sink quite challenging. This room could work for 2 people but not 3 as that way you goud use sofa for your luggage or belongings that don’t fit elsewhere.

Fisherman’s Village was like a world of its own. It’s so peaceful and quiet, away from the rest of the city. It’s a beautiful property set on such a wonderful peninsula with amazing views. The staff is wonderfully friendly and helpful, and the check-in and check-out process is the easiest. Great value.
