"This is a fantastic hotel. Seems to be independent, non-chain and whomever is running it, as well as the wider facilities like the bar and restaurant is doing a great job.
We've stayed here several times as our kid is at USF and it's wayyyy better and same price or even less than the ghetto holes by campus.
Anyway, great hotel.
One point worth mentioning is Ybor is a gay area so if you're sensitive to that, may not be for you.

"My husband and I were traveling in Florida with days in between our destination and on a whim (based on reviews from Hotels .com.) decided on a stop in St. Petersburg at the Hollander Hotel. Oh my goodness what a great decision! It’s a beautiful boutique hotel! As previous reviews had mentioned the hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating.
We were assigned a room and after several minutes realized the air conditioning was not functioning properly. We went downstairs and reported it to the desk clerk who referred it to the manager on duty (a precious person!) and without hesitation we were given a room on the same floor that was amazing!!
We cannot give enough stars to the bar, pool and restaurant staff. We will definitely be returning to this hotel in the future. "
