"The Rodmay Hotel has potential: it is definetely a heritage building and has some beautiful furniture but there is a lot of work to be done. It was clean and quiet but: 1. it took a long time for the hot water to arrive. 2. we couldn't shut the bathroom door. 3. the bathroom sink was very tiny with no counter space 4. the air was a bit stuffy."
"Upon check-in, we were told that our reserved room was on the second floor. When we realized that there was no elevator, we requested a relocation to a ground floor room, as my husband is awaiting knee surgery and stairs are difficult for him to navigate, especially when carrying luggage. Fortunately, a first-floor room was available. With 2 queen sized beds, it was tight but adequate and also clean. The bed sheets were very nice, as was the bathroom shower. Our room was located next to a street which was quite noisy in the morning. The hotel is located right next to the ferry terminal with departures for Texada or Vancouver Islands. It is also on the main downtown street with a variety of restaurant and shopping options. The price was reasonable and the room comfy...we will stay there again."
"The property was clean and bed was comfortable. No cups for coffee’ no Kleenex. I can bring my own if needed but expected these to be provided. My biggest concern was extension cords. There was little access to electrical plugs. In order to use the microwave we either put it on the floor to plug it in or get another extension cord. I would unplug the lamps to have access to electrical plugs. "
"Never used the kitchen but it appeared to be well stocked. Temperature controls in the room seemed to work great. Everything was nice and clean. A nice place to stay."
"The staff was great! They have been very accommodating about me having my 81-year-old dad over for visits. He uses a walker, and we were given a level-entry room with a great view of the ocean! I've been coming back to this place for a year now. They have a BBQ for the guests!"
