San Simeon is in a great location right on the beachfront. The building is well-designed with appealing outlooks from all rooms towards the ocean. The 2 Bedroom apartment was light, bright and spacious. It was comfortably furnished, although beds were a little firm for our liking. The apartment and property was well-maintained and clean. Requests were quickly met by the property manager. We loved the pool area, with a great pool and spa, and the rooftop spa and sauna were also excellent!

The location is great although the manager is not. On the Saturday we arrived there was a smoke alarm going off throughout the evening. I called the manager Virginia to get this checked. She confirmed that this was in the room above us and that the owner had not left a key to check it. She told me that it was likely to be the battery and there was nothing she could do about it as it was too late in the evening. She suggested that we all move into lounge as it was quieter there…! I queried this further and she ignored me and left abruptly. I called her and informed her that I would contact the fire department if she did not resolve this as there was a risk that it might not be the battery and that not resolving this would be negligent on her part. She responded that I was harassing her… Eventually she contacted the owner and arranged for a locksmith to resolve this at 11pm. As a manager of a holiday resort her job is to ensure that the guests are looked after and she has a duty of care to ensure their safety. She was rude and dismissive and her negligence could place guests lives at risk should there actually be a fire in the apartment block. This is not the first time as there are numerous similar ‘alarming’ complaints on travel reviews linked to her.

Great location, beautiful view of the beach and lovely sea breezes. Apartment was spacious and comfortable. Kids loved the pool and spa, which looks out to the ocean. If you have mobility issues, I’d suggest you ask for a ground floor apartment, otherwise getting to and from the pool/beach would be quite difficult due to the location of the lifts.

Right on the beach, only a bike track between you and the sea, so a great view. We walked about 7 minutes up the beach to the lifesavers, coffee, grocery & dining options. Visitors could park easily in the side street. Property has a swimming pool & spa. Large spacious 2 bedroom unit.

Oceans Views were amazing. Great pool. Wifi not good , but you stay there for the beachfront . We stayed in a standard 2 bedroom , which was good, but dated and no a/c or main room ceiling fan .Next time definitely pay the extra to upgrade to superior.

Beach holiday

Lovely spacious apartment with full wall glass windows overlooking the ocean. Being spring it was windy so could not enjoy the balcony as such as we would have liked. Excellent pool area & grass area. Walking distance to shops & restaurants. Lovely to just walk out onto the beach for walking & swim. Will definitely stay again.

Unacceptable behavior from the manager

I am a seasoned traveler and have never written a review however my experience at San Simeon was mixed . I booked this last minute and it was the cheapest option at the time . The location is good and the unit was ocean facing and pleasant with a balcony overlooking the pool and beach . When we arrived there was no one at reception. I phoned the contact number three times with no reply , and after 15mins Virginia appeared to book us in no apology for keeping us waiting . Once in the unit , the door to the second bedroom broke leaving me locked in the room , lucky I was able to exit the room via the balcony when I phoned Virginia she came to the room and tried to fix the lock with a knife . The following day without informing us she entered the unit with a tradesman to fix the lock . My son who works night shift was sleeping they banged on his bedroom door as they now wanted to replace both locks . The next day the second toilet ran out of toilet roll when I phoned to request a additional toilet roll I was informed we had to provide our own toilet paper , when I explained there was only half a roll to begin with , two additional rolls were delivered to the unit . On checking out I drop the two sets of keys in the key return box and left a voice message as the manager to confirm receipt of the keys . Virginia phone me to confirm that the keys had been returned but then berated me over the phone for leaving a a negative symbol regarding the check . Unacceptable behavior indeed
