El Tovar is beautiful and the staff are above and beyond kind and helpful (across the board, everyone we interacted with) but you are paying for the location not the quality of the lodging. The views are stunning, the location is perfect but it's also clear that the building hasn't been updated in decades.

The El Tovar restaurant food was superb and very well priced. The bus routes throughout the park was excellent to see all the photo shot opportunities of the canyon as well as the hiking trails.

Elegant old hotel right on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon - location could not have been better. The hotel - while historic and well-maintained - has smaller rooms than might be expected by many today, but was charming and well worth it to step outside the hotel porch and be right by the amazing views of the Grand Canyon

The location was great with plenty of parking. You must have a Prickly Pear Margaretia on the outside porch. The restaurant portions were large, so you get what you pay for.

El Tovar was a wonderful place to stay. The scenery and the historic atmosphere made it a very special experience. The staff were friendly, and we also enjoyed relaxing in the second-floor lounge. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant was excellent, and David provided outstanding service. Dinner, however, was disappointing. The service did not match the price. There are also several other restaurants within walking distance, so it's worth considering those for dinner.

Room was nice but view was disappointing. We expected a view of the Canyon since the hotel sits perpendicular to the rim, but we only had a view of the parking lot. We specifically asked for the best view available at check-in, and were told that a room was available on the 3rd floor (no elevator) that would have the best view. Overall the hotel was charming and we got to enjoy both sunset and sunrise right outside the hotel entrance.

Without doubt the best hotel in Grand Canyon village. The restaurant was great. Our bedroom was small and in definite need of updating. As the building is historic the AC units are entirely inside the room making it very noisy. No elevators so luggage had to be carried up 2 flights of stairs. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Best place you can stay near the canyon. Staff is always great and after the day crowd leaves, you will feel like you have a private spot on the rim. Tip your bartenders and eat at the restaurant.
