"The room was very clean and comfortable. They provided room slippers also. The location was excellent. Right across from Waverley station. Since my husband and I took the train from London, it was convenient. It is located in the center of all attractions, so we walked everywhere from the hotel. Lots of pubs and cafes near by. We purchased breakfast for 2 mornings. Food was delicious and fresh, and the staff members were very tentative and polite. The lounge is located onv7th floor, we were able to enjoy the view of Scotts monument and the park. The price was very reasonable yet excellent customer service. We would definitely stay again if we ever travel to Edinburgh."

"Great hotel, great location and very clean with large rooms. Restaurant was excellent and we ate there almost every night after long day tours. Staff very friendly and we would definitely stay there again. "

"Room was disappointing at best - stick is in a handicap room with a view of the air units and a bunch of garbage on the roof - literally right outside the window. Table in the room was bent and sloping. Staff was mixed, some were great, others could have been better at explaining things - such as how to get down to the train station via the lift instead of walking multiple flights of stairs with luggage. We asked 3 different staff and got 3 different sets of instructions- none of which were sufficient on their own. Then there’s the lift situation - ONLY 1 working lift. Location is great though, but multiple other options around. "

"This Ibis Hotel is located in a very convenient area in the old town and the major Edinburgh sites were easy walks from the hotel. The staff was kind and helpful, breakfast was fresh, and my room was very clean. I wish the room had a refrigerator to store cold drinks. "

"In general the stay at the hotel was fine. We book a bedroom without window and the AC wasn’t working (I think they had some issues with that because it was a men trying to fix it - at least that was what the staff told me) so the room was like a sauna. The staff was really helpful and kind. Unfortunately the issue didn’t change and after a few hours we ask again to the staff about the AC. And we change the room, same thing was happening but we call to the receptionist and then she told us that the issue shouldn’t continue. At the end the AC wasn’t properly working I don’t know if it because there was no window in the room and/or if the issue was happening as the staff told us. It shouldn’t be needed calling the reception to to turn on the AC as they should be turn on by default. The shower towels were not “fluffy” as usual and there was no toilet brush in the bathroom. The carpets in the corridor for the rooms really need a deep clean, as they were quite dirty. They let us leave our luggage before the check in and after the check out."

"You cannot charge anything to your room unless you have paid money up front for them to deduct from like a line of credit. The whole thing was ridiculous as they had all my credit card details and could easily charge my card. It was extremely inconvenient having to pay every time you ordered and we had the same issue at the Clayton hotel in Glasgow. We also stayed at the Caledonian hotel in Edinburgh and had no issues charging anything to our room. Other than that there was a lot of construction going on around the hotel so forget sleeping in and one of the 2 elevators wasn’t working. The staff however were great and very polite and helpful and the location was excellent."

"This hotel is super convenient from the tramstation and very easy access to the Royal Mile. It was easy to access all of the tourist spots with no problem. Many food and pub options in the area as well. Mornings were a bit on the noisy side with staff cleaning and turning rooms over. I had a great stay and recommend. "
