"Such a special hotel in one of the most gorgeous cities weโ€™ve ever visited. Staying in a hotel built right into the cave made our whole experience in Matera feel even more incredible. Everything about it was breathtaking and unique, and it was definitely worth the stay. The spa in the basement was also such a nice bonus โ€” especially after walking up and down all those hills! We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely come back."

"Sextantio Le Grotte della Civita was one of the most memorable stays of our entire Italy trip. Staying in a beautifully restored historic cave in the heart of Matera was such a unique and magical experience. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and full of character, while still being very comfortable. The staff were absolutely wonderfulโ€”warm, friendly, attentive, and always happy to help. Breakfast was also fantastic, with fresh local food and excellent service. The location in the Sassi is incredible, and simply stepping outside the hotel feels like stepping back in time. More than just a hotel, Sextantio really feels like part of the Matera experience. We absolutely loved our stay and would highly recommend it!"

"Nice hotel overall, sauna was no light in it, service was good, mattress is nice, towels were changed and room was cleaned every day. Good breakfast but they need another coffee machine to avoid line. Overall very good and pleasant experience. Parking was convenient, even for 15 euros a day"
