Nice room, good staff , we have free water and they are very accommodating. We have issue with the pool and they staff seems listening and helpful with our concern. We have free shuttle to and from the airport. Nice stay

The hotel is an older hotel but very well maintained. Has a beautiful swimming pool with lots of tropical plants and iguanas. Around the corner the beautiful Catedral is located and also a nice park where you can see a great monument to Simon Bolivar and there are probably more than 50 iguanas that come close to you. The malecón is walking distance. During the day is safe to walk around but I will not venture during the night. Breakfast is included and it was a great buffet with everything on it. Lunch was great also. There is a great pastry store attached to the hotel lobby .

Older hotel but it is in reasonable shape. Very nice pool and pool areas. Food in restaurant was ok but service was a bit unpolished.

Lovely hotel and great staff. The carpet in room 417 needs a shampoo as it is badly stained with something. I'd definitely stay there again.

The location is great for those wanting to explore Guayaquil for a day before heading to the Galapagos (typically a stop-over town for those travelling). The hotel is impeccably clean and the staff are very friendly. With being just 2 blocks away from the Malecon, it was very walkable to go see some of the tourist attractions

This was my 3rd stay at the property. It is a beautiful hotel that is unfortunately located in an unsafe city. However, it is very secure, so when I visit Guayaquil I like to stay here. It has a restaurant, bar, and adjoining bakery, all accessible from the lobby. Absolutely beautiful pool area. Huge, delicious breakfast included with stay, excellent coffee. Room was spacious, clean, comfortable. Hotel staff pleasant and responsive. Ordered a sandwich via room service, arrived promptly and was very tasty. As long as I'm able, the Grand Hotel Guayaquil will be my preferred place when visiting Guayaquil.

30 hours layover in Guayaquil
I have a 1 day layover in Guayaquil before going home from the Galapagos islands. Guayaquil is known to be a dangerous city so I don't plan to go out much while I am in the city. The hotel makes my trip very pleasant. I was greeted by the hotel staff upon exiting the airport and was taken to the hotel. Hotel provides a delicious breakfast (free), welcome drink (free) and buffet dinner ($25). The room is comfortable. The pool is nice, with a beautiful iguana looking over us (the real iguanas in Galapagos are quite ugly). The hotel is very close to the Malecon 2000 and water front, so I did do a little bit of sightseeing!

Good Hotel
It was a nice hotel, centrally located, good service, with quick and easy access to the airport. It also has a nice outdoor pool to cool off. TV with English language news channels. My only minor issue was that breakfast starts at 06:00 AM, but I had to leave for the airport at 06:00 AM, but they wouldn’t serve me 10 minutes early. But otherwise I would recommend.
