"The place was great and we felt very comfortable there. One thing that I don’t feel like is communicated well is that you can’t use the water in your room to drink, brush your teeth ect. There are bottle refill stations in the hall, so bring a few bottles to refill. My wife caught a stomach illness while we were there, I’m guessing because we brushed our teeth with sink water and let shower water in our mouths? Or maybe it was something else entirely. Idk. Either way we would definitely keep this place at the top of our list for stays at west bay. We had the hotel Buffett breakfast added to our stay before we booked and it was worth it. If you pay by the day I think they want like $30 a person or something. IMO I think $10-15 a person is what it’s worth. "

"This was our first time to Roatan and after reading tons reviews we settled on Banarama. We were so happy we did we loved everything! We barely wore shoes of any kind all week we were so close to the beach it was amazing. The breakfast was super great, the bar was fun, pizza was incredible and everything we ate from the cook was delicious and perfect. I would describe it as “lodgey”. The room was Small but clean and cleaned everyday. The fridge was super cold and having the fresh water and sink and microwave and coffee pot in our room was Awesome. Walking distance to several little stores and coffee shops and tons on restaurants up and down the beach. The water was crystal clear and we saw tons of starfish in the water right out front of the resort. We will definitely be back! "

"Everything exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff and manager, Angel, made us feel incredibly welcome. It was our first time in Roatán, and staying at La Placita truly made it special. What makes La Placita unique is its charming shopping center filled with local restaurants — and we had the chance to try them all! Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. We highly, highly recommend dining at the local spots on-site. Be sure to try the three lobster tails special and the tacos Catrachos — both were unforgettable. La Placita has a wonderful reputation for making sure guests are enjoying their time, and most importantly, we felt safe from the moment we arrived. He took us all over the island, showing us everything from local hotspots to cultural gems like the chocolate factory. He’s down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and made sure we always felt safe and comfortable. Having him as our guide was a major highlight of the trip and another reason why La Placita stands out.
