"Location: perfect for ropeway and pirate ship cruise. 2 min walk away. Rooms: amazing lake view Staff: went above and beyond for every little request Hotel: gorgeous lobby, foot bath outside lobby overlooking the lake. Easy to book private onsens which were impeccably kept and really nice for a family gathering Food: the staff went above and beyond, helping fix a very quick vegetarian dinner for the vegetarians in my family. The spread was amazing and huge. Same for breakfast. Rooms: very clean and very comfortable. Highly recommended stay - wish we stayed longer here!"

"Beautiful building, very lovingly maintained. The staff were friendly but not always able to speak English properly. The whole experience had an air of 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' film: both in terms of grandeur and comedy value. Gym was very poor for a 5 star hotel. "

"Check-in was quick and efficient. We had 4 rooms for a group of 10. The wine lounge (included as our package) was a great way to hang around with variety of wines, snacks, ice cream, etc. We missed the tea house as we were there at 4p and spent time to settle and picked our yukata before closing at 6pm. Dinner was good even though we didn’t have the wagyu package. Buffet breakfast has a lot of variety. The bed or futons were comfortable. In a nutshell the the place very nice, just too pricy. Would be nice if we can stay for another night to enjoy everything there."

"Hotel was clean and the staff were all very polite and helpful. The beds were a little uncomfortable, the AC didn’t work well and the room was hot but we were able to open the windows which was nice. Overall, the hotel was dated and guest rooms could use a renovation "
