Grand old hotel that needs some updating but otherwise has a beautiful corridor that leads to the lobby. Very pleasant & comfortable place to stay with beautiful lake frontage & view of Mt Fuji. My room was spacious & nice with view of lake & mt.
Wonderful stay. Fine dining on the property was superb. Staff was friendly and property beautiful location. Onsen has a lot of traditional rules and restrictions, but we were able to enjoy a few times.

The hotel is a little dated but it’s very well maintained. The location is unbeatable. A truly relaxing experience.
We had a lakeside room in one of the towers and it was great. The views from the balcony were amazing and we were lucky enough to even get a glimpse of Mnt Fuji on a clear day, along with some of the local flying squirels!
The buffet food at the grill restaurant was great and the Onsen was a great experiance too!
A great property we would highly recommend if you want a relaxing few days away from the hussle and bussle of the cities!
I love this hotel. It is in a gorgeous location on the lake and we could see Mt Fuji from our room. Staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was excellent.
This hotel was WOW! We went to Japan and stayed at 4 different hotels and this one was my favorite one. Service was a 100000/10 food was great, views were unbelievable amazing. Keep in mind this hotel is located on a rural area so you are about 20 min away from the little town and everything closes at 8. Meaning you are unable to get into public transportation or taxi after that time. We had to walk 30 min to get back to the hotel. Nothing major, you really don’t hav to leave this hotel because it is stunning
The Prince went out of their way to make our stay absolutely perfect. My husband and I were extremely satisfied with everything. Our BBQ dinner (which you need reservations for) was our highlight for sure. We had the whole place to ourselves. Great food, incredible service and an incredible view. Again, we loved everything.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable with a beautiful view of Lake Ashi. The location is lovely albeit a bit more secluded/farther away, right by the lake, with Mount Fuji visible on clear days. The hotel feels a bit dated (think 70s charm) but is well maintained and slightly upscale.
There’s a free shuttle to Odawara Station, but taxis must be booked in advance through the hotel. The dinner buffet was solid—good variety and tasty food. Nearby attractions include Hakone’s small aquarium and zoo (about 5 minutes away), and the famous floating torii gate and shrine, which is around a 20-minute walk through the woods. Go early—the lines get long!
The staff were all excellent and went above and beyond to accommodate your needs. The views and scenery around the hotel are also stunning however the hotel itself is quite dated and while the food was really good, it was the most expensive we had in Japan.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Great views of the lake and Fuji. The lift to the top of Mt. Hakone was an easy walk, and the hotel offers frequent buses to the town and Odawara station. The room was cool and well kept, and we enjoyed the restaurant and unique architecture.
