Great place to stay on Cat Ba island. It’s close enough to town to walk to restaurants yet away from all the massive construction sites so it’s quiet. The hotel is beautiful. Comfortable modern rooms and fantastic breakfast buffet. The beach is nice too. The staff were very nice and amazingly helpful. Highly recommend!

Very clean, always cleaned up, free items restocked by cleaning crew. Very friendly staf throughout the building in all areas of service from outside the gates to every part of the hotel facilities. Short 10 minute walk to main area of the city. Amazing beach and views of the sea. nice hiking trail nearby of the coast.

Amazing resort with a lot of facilities! I loved the pool area with direct beach access, and to see the sunset from the sky bar. Breakfast was very good with a huge election. Dinner menu could have been better tho.

Great to have a private beach although the sun rises in front of the beach it means the sun goes down behind the mountain about 3pm. The pool was also cool but both of these was because we went at end of November. Good selection at breakfast, however they need more coffee machines

The rooms are immaculate, the views are amazing and the pools/bars/restaurants are all great.Everywhere we went in Vietnam we were impressed with the warmth and hospitality of the people and the staff at the Flamingo really took it to the next level.I particular Thuy on reception provided lovely flowers for our anniversary and a cake, as well as organising our transport back to Hanoi.We couldnt have wished for a better place to celebrate our 35th.

The property at first looks amazing but other than the pool/gym, every has a cost that too on a higher side- so nobody was in the arcade or spa- it was was all deserted - even the rooftop bar. The hotel is quite commercialized much like USA and lacks Viet hospitality or the human touch. No area for bottle refill, the shuttle to town has a cost, and when it is time to checkout, they shove you out at the exact moment the clock struck a 12noon. We lived in Vietnam for 15 days in 5 different cities and hotels but this one even with the amazing location and supposedly exceptional amenities ranks the lowest for me. The breakfast has a good selection but many items aren’t labeled and most staff doesn’t understand English. It was difficult to identify meat and all. It’s better to live in smaller hotel, with warm staff and better vibes.

Room was lovely but next time i would stay on the sunny side as there was no sun on the balcony with a mountain view. Fabulous breakfast. TV doesnt link to Netflix but had YouTube. Showers need rethinking as theyre above the bath in the celing and soak the room. Lovely that theu give you 100000 to spend at the resort for each day you stay.whe you shower

Amazing hotel but far from everything

Love the resort, amazing place, just to many people, lost of people waiting for elevators and carts to take you to the 1st building if you wanted to get into town, which is a 10-15 min walk down and up a big hill. Everything else about the hotel was excellent. Our room was immaculate, received good service, and the breakfast buffett was amazing. Its just that this place was too big for me.

Everything! The staff was wonderful starting out with a room upgrade with the most fantastic ocean view, sounds of waves, and lush greenery. The breakfast buffet was also substantial with both Vietnamese and Western choices. You can walk to town although it is a hill or take an electric cart for a 3 minute short ride. If you like walking it is also connected to a paved walkway along the coast! The only surprise was our tour shuttle busses did not want to drop us off at the Hotel and rather drop us at the bottom of hill. Not sure why when we were suppose to be dropped off in front of the Hotel. Just a curve ball when you are older and have luggage. Not a deal breaker, but you should check with your transportation before hand to confirm.

Hotel room was up to all my expectations and good choice for breakfast. Unfortunately due to storm the week before some pools were closed and the beach was full of rubbish which staff didn't seem to be making an effort to clean up in any hurry. Distance from Cat Ba town was easy

From the time I arrived, every person, especially the front desk staff and spa staff were absolutely wonderful. Hotel views are gorgeous, the room was great. Excellent stay!
