"The hotel is under renovation and in the morning we had several workers right in front of our windows peeping in, not a good experience and we wished they had told us prior.
The bar tender is in and out, long wait times.
Location is great and in walking distance to all mid city old town attractions"
"When I originally booked my stay, comments from previous guests described the decor as old and outdated. I found the opposite.
The building is old (German poet Schiller once stayed there), but the room was modern throughout with walk in shower and staff very professional and polite. Breakfast was very good, and the hotel is right on the market square in the heart of the city within easy walking distance of everything.
A farmer’s market is in the market square in front of the hotel several times a week as well as a stand with Thuringian bratwurst. A tourist info center by the market square next to city hall (Rathaus) was very helpful.
I highly recommend the Adler Hotel in Rudolstadt."
"The hotel was a much longer walk than 4 minutes (unless you are a giraffe) and it was not easy to find because there seems to be many streets that are poorly marked or unmarked. I received help from a very nice teenage couple who used their smart phone to finally find the hotel. I would consider staying there again but I would also search for other hotels in that city."
"Good one night stop. Breakfast was great!
Only complaint is it is near the train station and I got the feeling from the front desk it isn’t safe on weekend nights.
Parking is in the train station parking lot
Close enough to walk into the old town!"
"Nice modern hotel on the riverbank near the historic bridge of the same name. I stayed in one of the rooms the hotel has on the bridge which is fine *note no lift and no air-con but there is a fan. Good breakfast buffet. Excellent public areas"
"The room was very spacious, modern and clean! Staff were very helpful when i attempted an early check in, but were only available by whatsapp or email. There is no "lobby" or area to sit prior to room being ready, or restaurant. Something to think about if you are arriving early after a long overnight flight. Great amenities in the room! An easy 5 minute walk to the Hbf area which has shops and transport. Street is a bit sketch but I felt OK as a solo female traveler. I would stay here again!"
