"So. This review only refers to the hotel. Schluchsee and the surrounding area is amazing and I absolutely recommend the restaurant Seehof in Schluchsee, although they also have service issues. The hotel is by far not as nice and comfortable as advertised in the pictures and on Expedia as a whole. The rooms are quite frankly a catastrophe in this price segment; no amenities except for a fridge, no AC, no ceiling fan, not even a water boiler. "Stayed for one night, booked last minute the day before traveling North from Switzerland, needed somewhere in the black forest with good check-in/out times and somewhere to securely park the bike (car park right by the hotel, plenty of eyes on it and it's quite a secluded location so no concerns!) - great little beer garden, food in the restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was great - great value and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend!"

"This is a lovely hotel in the Littenweiler area just east of Freiburg. There is a handy bus right outside the door, that takes you to the tram, which is then an easy ride into the city. The staff was very helpful, the rooms were nice, and the breakfast was fantastic, with hot dishes as well as cold!"

"Clean property. Sauna was amazing - would have been better if there was a shower just outside just to cool down. Provided with us a card which allowed us to visit numbers of place free of cost - saved used around $$$. Issue checking in due to iPad not working (as no front desk available). The booking said they provide with a card which allows us to travel for free on local transport - never got it."
