"No cable TV. The only option is to enter personal streaming passwords into the smart TV.
Effectively no air-conditioning. There was a small, intermittently functioning window unit in the bedroom of a three-room suite. The controls of the unit were covered in pieces of black electrical tape and set at 75 degrees. Bedroom had a ceiling fan and the living room had a floor fan. Windows open and have screens.
No off-street parking. Municipal lot behind the hotel is posted "No Overnight Parking", which apparently is unenforced. On-street parking is posted as limited to two hours, also unenforced.
On-site bar is convenient but expensive. $8.75 for a domestic draft beer."
"The Black Sheep Inn is a rare gem! Built in the mid-19th century and renovated with modern appliances and amenities. Kim makes a fantastic breakfast. Hammondsport is a charming village. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute."
"This property was as good as ever and without badmouthing another microtel, I recommend this over the one in Olean. Every time I stay here the staff are extremely professional and friendly. Clean room, quality breakfast, everything you should expect from a quality Microtel."
"Staff were very nice. Property is somewhat rundown and the room I had needed updating, but for the price it was acceptable. Basically clean, no bugs, a/c worked fine. TV had sufficient channels and there was a microwave and fridge. Water in shower was hot. If you are on a budget, it is sufficient. The old " you get what you pay for " label is appropriate. Dont expect a Hilton atmosphere for what you want to pay."
