"The Raffaello is well located in the center of Urbino. It is a serious climb to reach it, but that is true of everything in Urbino. Our reception was rushed and callous. Keys were given, things mumbled, and we were sent our way. The lobby area was unkept, with pictures leaning against the wall and boxes stacked. The rooms were simple and clean but not in good repair. My air/heat system was without a remote and therefore could not be used. When I went to report this, there was no one at the front...

"Hotel was excellent and with free parking near entrance. it is about 2KM from the city center up one hill after another with no pedestrian lane so we chose to drive and parked in 6 level garage with a shopping center on levels 7-10. We visited the castello in the afternoon and did not wait around for restaurants to open at 8 PM. So we just picked up a sandwich at the shopping center and took it back to the hotel."

It's outside of the city's walled gates which means a walk up hill each time you go into town, which was great exercise for working off the delicious and very generous breakfast. "I hit my head on the beam at the top of the stairs in our room. Ouch! Other than that everything else was great. The owner did try to talk us into taking a bus, instead of walking all the way, to Gubbio but the walk was much better than he'd described and so we were glad we walked the whole way."

"The Angelo Blu is a comfortable place to stay in one of the most scenic parts of Italy. The apartment-like suites are very spacious for the price and nicely furnished. The kitchenette would be handy for those having a longer stay. This is not a place for persons who have mobility issues or cannot take stairs. Not only are there stairs to reach the room, but the beds are also in a loft and the bathroom is down the stairs. The owner family is very friendly."
