"Staff were excellent esp Julia. Pleasant, friendly and helpful. Evening meal at the restaurant was absolutely delicious. Breakfast is good quality. Good selection though repetitive over the few days we stayed. Indoor pool (basement) and outdoor pool (roof). Spa & sauna though I didn’t get to use. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Do note that no iron in the room even on request. There is charge to get ironing done. Also the airport shuttle is not complimentary 40 EUR charge. They don’t offer half board - bed & breakfast. "

Pool access is with reservations but totally worth it and super relaxing. Gorgeous cellar, little shop and art collection. Beautiful breakfast dining room and excellent food selection."

The pool and rooftop were an excellent amenity and the location was central to everything by the water and beautiful gardens. The breakfast was delicious and varied, very fresh with fresh baked bread and pastels de nata."

"This hotel is the best hotel we have ever stayed in. As soon as we arrived we felt extremely welcomed by Henrique on reception who looked after us very well. All staff members in the hotel and restaurant were extremely friendly, helpful and polite, which made this stay an enjoyable experience for myself and my partner. The room was very clean, there was lots of space, the beds were comfy and we had an amazing view from our room ! The location of the hotel is brilliant, right in the middle of everything. Breakfast was delicious, we could even pre order breakfast to take with us on our hikes which was extremely helpful and you got a lot of food ! We were thrilled with staying at Hotel Caju and would absolutely stay here again when we come back to Madeira !! Would absolutely recommend this hotel if you are looking to stay in Funchal. "

"João, Carla and the great kitchen and cleaning staff went the extra mile to make our one week stay comfortable. The room we got was an upgrade because we had found the first room’s bathroom uncomfortably cramped. The room we got was an extra story to climb stairs but João insisted that he carry our bags. He was also super helpful with ideas and bus connections. The large windows opened wide in the evenings to let fresh cool air in. If we had to be inside during the day, the AC could cool the room down in minutes. The bed and bathroom shower were roomy and comfortable. Daily room service left the place neat and tidy when came back from our daily adventures. "
