"This may be the most beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. Bamboo and a Zen garden in front, a pond in the rear with a view of a lush hillside topped by a castle . Adjacent to the large Urakuen garden. Rooms and lobby decorated in the most tasteful manner. Staff gave excellent service. Adjacent to a river walk and in walking distance to one of the oldest castles in Japan, a large Shinto Shrine, a historic castle street, and a railway station."

"My favorite part of this place was the man at front desk. Missed his name. We only speak English and he only spoke Japanese. Managed to explaine everything perfectly. Perfect. Explained what I was signing, what was needed & mistakes I made. Showed us the free amenities and explained 10am check out and elevator. When we did check out and asked him to call taxi. He made sure to show us that there was a free shuttle to the airport. The man is gold. The room, bedding and washroom were well kept....

"It was a clean and confortable place, but anyway, I don't know why, there was nobody for my check-in, nor the six days I stayed there, I only saw work people there two times. So well, it's a good place, but if there's nobody to look after it, well, you can't ask for help or maybe end up sleeping over on the street. Also, in japanese night there's practically no streetlights and it was almost imposible to find the place (it's like hidden behind and enormous stone wall)"

"Booked a non-smoking room but upon check in, only a smoking room was available. This is basically the only time I will complain about anything because no matter how much mystery spray is used, a smoking room is a smoking room."

"Nice new and clean rooms with all the things you need (not very well insulated though). In the close proximity to the Hotel there wasn't much in matter of eating out or shops, but 10min+ walk would get you where needed. And 20min+ walk to either of nearest train stations. But overall it was a pretty good value."

"The room was much bigger than expected, very clean and welcoming. The breakfast and parking is included which is a big plus. I will stay there again"
