"I was intrigued by this alternative to insanely expensive conventional hotels in the Big Apple, and I was happy to upgrade to "business class", which was still a relative bargain.
Positives - GREAT LOCATION, short walk to major subway lines and Central Park, not to mention neighboring stores, restaurants, cafes, etc. The bathroom and shower were spacious, modern, clean, and well-maintained. Also, I liked the room rules, the absence of drunken partyers, the security to get into the building and rooms, etc. The large lockable storage locker was sufficient for
The bed seemed to be about halfway in between a twin and a full, which allowed me to sleep with my bag on one side of my bed.
Negatives - for "business class", my mattress was on the thin size, uncomfortably so. While the "hotel" provides you with a towel sufficiently large to dry off after a shower, and a clean bedsheet, it does not provide blankets (they're extra🙄). And, yes, with the A/C blasting (mid-summer in NYC), it would have been nice to have a blanket.
Another thing to point out is that the entire hotel is dimly lit, which may be great for sleeping, but for walking around can be off-putting to some.
Would I sleep there again? Possibly, if the competition was as pricey as it was last week. I sure hope they do something about the business class cheap mattresses and the blankets-for-a-fee. 😕"
