Remote Retreat

A great location to stay in Holbox, just far away from the main square to be quieter, but still only a 2-3 min walk away from it. Spent some time working remote, and the wifi worked great, and even reached to the open air roof. Front desk staff was helpful, and the rooms were clean and comfortable

This hotel was more than what I expected. I got more of an apartment than a room. It had a a big living room. The bed was very comfortable and had many pillows. The room and common areas were clean. The pool area was nice and rooftop was amazing for sunrise and sunset. Staff was very friendly and helpful with my questions. It’s 4 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from the central area.

Really lovely property in a a great location near the centre of town and an easy walk to the beach and ferry. Staff were helpful and friendly, the room exceeded expectations and was very spacious and comfortable. The grounds are beautiful and lush with a great pool. Would absolutely stay again!

Nice place a few streets back from the beach

I had a room with a bedroom and kitchen area, which was huge. The room was very tastefully decorated and comfortable. The pool area was a little disappointing as it rarely got the sun, hence I never saw it used by guests.

There is nothing we did not like. Super hosts...!!! You really are their guest. The rooftop has a good view of sunset, although awesome view of sunrise. If you're seeking a great stay at a boutique hotel, easy to walk everywhere to enjoy Holbox and experience cultural living, Do Not Miss the chance to stay here. It's everything you could ask for

Very good value for money, I would recommend this hotel for families as the big rooms are spacious and have all the amenities needed for a wonderful stay at Holbox. The only downsides would be the breakfast menu, I guess it could be improve. Furthermore, be aware of you are travelling with elderly people as even though is very close to downtown the roads can get tricky and might cause discomfort. Overall a wonderful stay! Thank you for your hospitality!

Carlos, porperty manager, and his staff are awesome people and always willing to help. They always welcome you with smile and provide you with a great service. The hotel is conviently located few blocks from the beach and kept very clean and in really good shape. We would be back anytime. Thank you

The entire property and furniture needs a desperate upgrade. Everything is ages old, in addition, the staff is lacks customer service and hospitality service with guest. Never again will stay.

Overall very good value, the room was very spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable also! The A/C worked amazing and the staff very friendly and welcoming. The only complaint I have was that the bathrooms by the pool were very dirty. Though I believe it probably is not the norm based on the cleanliness of the property and rooms, pool included. The hotel is about a 5 minute walk from the beach and the town square. The Wi-Fi was OK at best, which is normal in Holbox, a remote island. It makes for a great place to relax and enjoy the Island and disconnect from everything at home.

Great place actually! But they try to get money for a key I dropped as I was rushing to the ferry at 6am, my son dropped the key in the dark as there was no light at all I thought they would find it but said they didn't! Which seams very sketchy!!! And try to charge me for this!!

Love this property!!

We love staying at Tropical Suites by MIJ! It is our go to hotel on the island when we bring our 9yo son. We get our own bedroom and he gets to sleep on a pull out sofa, which he loves! The rooms are HUGE so there is lots of space for our luggage without it getting in your way. Air conditioning works great! Pool was nice for the kids after a long day at the beach. Location us PERFECT!!!! Easily walkable to town square. Cons: Only thing i would want is somewhere to put a rental bike! They don't allow bikes past the front door. But having a little area for people to put a bike to lock up inside the property would be beneficial. There is space to park a golf cart outside the front door which is nice.

This is the only hotel during this 38 day travel that wouldn’t allow us to pay you directly. Our airline changed our flight. We contacted you and them directly. He insisted we pay him and said you never contacted them. He also charged us several hundreds more in tax fees from your quote. Carlos I believe is his name put us on the 3rd floor where they were doing construction right over our bed. The ceiling material fell into our eyes. Another manager moved us next door to the maid service area where it smelled like sewage. Our entire experience there was terrible. They completely ripped us off and did not represent your company well.

Avoid at all costs!!!! No electricity or running water for 3 days of this trip which is nearly half. Could not even flush the toilet, could not shower, no A/C and no wifi.Had heatstroke and could not cool down in the room with A/C when it was 34 degrees. Had booked this hotel with wifi so I could continue to work and lost 3 days earnings due to the power cuts. When asking staff what was happening they would laugh and pretend they couldn’t speak English or just say they didn’t know what was happening. They have tried to say this was an island wide fault when friends staying at various hotels and villas on the island all had water and power that we had to go and use. Hotel refusing to give any refund for the 3 days affected as they say it happens constantly - this is not mentioned anywhere on their website or Expedia and was not mentioned to us upon checking in. Please book a different hotel in Holbox to avoid your trip being ruined as there was plenty of ones that still had electricity and water and more helpful staff.

La propiedad está bastante bonita, es limpia, aún que no pasaron a hacerme el aseo las primera noche que estuve ahí. Todo el tiempo estuve en contacto con Emmanuel el chico de recepción, estuvo al pendiente de mi llegada y me hizo varias recomendaciones, siempre muy atento y muy amable! Lo malo es que el baño a veces no baja agua y una vez se nos tapó (no echamos papel ni nada) , por otro lado la terraza está bonita pero bastante descuidada estaría padre que la arreglaran y que ofrecieran desayuno o snacks :)
