As of August 2026 the entire hotel is wrapped in scaffolding and mesh, which blocks all views facing the lovely park in the front. Since they are still selling upgraded rooms with “garden views” this feels very misleading. In fact I woke up to 2 construction men standing directly 1 foot outside my windows on the second floor, talking loudly at 8am and getting ready for their work. Since there is no AC in the rooms, I had the windows wide open and suddenly was naked in my bed with workers staring in. Not cool. When the construction isn’t happening this would be a perfectly fine place to stay. 2 mins from paddington on a cute park, and feels like an old boarding house with some good character. I hate staying in soulless Hyatt place type hotels, so I like quirk and charm. The bathroom is the size of a cruiseship bathroom and all plastic, in fact it seems like some kind of pre-fab pop in RV bathroom. Odd. Anyway, for 1 or 2 nights, minus the construction, go for it. But there are like 6 identical hotels lining this park and the others don’t have scaffolding on them so you should stay in one of those or call this hotel and double check the remodel is finished up. In the meantime can the hotel warn guests that at 8am there will be men standing outside their windows?! The front desk lady was kind at check in…

Very nice breakfast buffet. Helpful, kind staff that stored our luggage for many hours before check-in time. Conveniently located just down the street from Victoria station.
