The Bosun's Chair

"We had a lovely stay at Bosun's Chair and would highly recommend it. The location is excellent, making it easy to explore the local area and enjoy everything nearby. Our room was beautiful, with cool, stylish décor and a comfortable, welcoming feel. The bathroom was equally impressive, with nice towels and quality toiletries provided. We also appreciated the in-room facilities, including a coffee machine, kettle, tea, hot chocolate and complimentary bottled water. Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy, which made the whole experience hassle-free. The only slight downside was the limited parking available but we did get the last space yipppee, and breakfast isn't included in the room rate. However, breakfast can be purchased separately, so it wasn't a major issue for us. Overall, a fantastic place to stay with lots of thoughtful touches. We'd definitely return. Highly recommended!"

"The Beach House is a stunning period hotel with an amazing history. We’ve stayed here several times before, and always loved our visits, when we previously found the hotel’s bedrooms to be well equipped, comfortable and spacious. However, on this occasion we were unprepared to find our allocated room not being inside the main hotel but instead was located in a small, draughty annex on the other side of the hotel car park, which wasn’t ideal as we had a lot of wet and windy weather during our stay, and this made the short outdoor walk to and from the main hotel rather unpleasant and so this took the edge off our enjoyment. Our allocated room was described in the promotional material as a “Comfy Double”. Whilst the double bed was indeed very comfortable, I would say a better description of the room itself would be cramped rather than comfy! There was no wardrobe or chest of drawers anywhere in the bedroom, we only had a few pegs on the wall and a handful of hangers, so we kept most of our clothes inside our two small open suitcases on the floor area surrounding our bed, which wasn’t great and somewhat of a trip hazard to say the least, as there was very minimal space on either side of our bed. The bathroom was basic but clean with a nice warm towel rail and lovely big fluffy towels! Would’ve preferred a flexible shower head rather than the static raindance head though. We’d definitely revisit but next time we will make sure we request a room inside the main hotel!"

"I have to say, this was a perfect stay. Single traveller. From arrival to departure, the staff and service were faultless The cabines are super. The attention to detail very good indeed. Coffee and tea making facilities with sealed bottles of milk and water. Complimentary flapjacks... Large TV, controllable heat and a cooling fan. A window near the bed for those warm nights. Full USB sockets integrated to wall plugs next to the bed as well as a sidelight. Curtains for blackout. A seating area. Plenty of drawers for clothing. Toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, shampoo, conditioner, hairdryer etc. All very well presented. Thoughtful layout throughout the property. The main building is very nice indeed with plenty of books and comfy sofas. An abundance of parking and outside seating. I didn't have time to assess the food but I suspect it will meet or exceed expectations. You won't be disappointed."
