"Loved my stay for three days in quiet, relaxed neighborhood enjoying passing of time. Delicious buffet in the morning at the first floor diner. Greatly enjoyed BGM radio playing classical music. Happy zoo and interesting museum in walking distance. Will definitely visit again. "

"This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. After being cramped in many Japanese hotels and ryokans, this was much much larger with three queen/full size beds, a 65" TV and an outdoor bath (mineral salts available in the lobby). However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station...

"I am usually impressed with every hotel in Japan but two things were dissapointing. The wifi reception was very poor. One of the staff behind reception doesn’t enjoy his job and can't smile. Apart from that, for a cheap hotel, onsen, breakfast were fine. "

"This was by far the nicest room/resort we have stayed in. However, please understand that as this location is very remote, dining options in the area and transportation may be limited. This may be why we didn't see any foreigners there? However, they do provide pick-up service to and from the Shin-Iwakuni station depending on the room you're staying in given you contact them at least three days in advance. Although our Shinkansen was unexpectedly delayed by two hours due to rain/lightning, they patiently waited for our arrival and did not leave us stranded. Perhaps the only downside was that we only stayed two nights as I felt we could've done with some more downtime and taking advantage of the amenities including the bikes and SUPs. I hope to return again soon, staying for a longer time next time. Thank you Marissa Resort for giving us an incredible and memorable vacation!"

"Thoroughly enjoyable stay in a renovated commercial property dating back to at least the first half of1900's, if not earlier. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, which gives it a distinctive Japanese feel, but with all modern amenities. The morning breakfast made from local, seasonal ingredients was del8cious and a great experience in itself. The staff were very friendly and dedicated, and the service was outstanding. All in all, a pleasant time. Wish I could have stayed longer. "
