The property was beautiful, the staff was amazing! There was a beautiful bar and a happy hour! The bathroom was a bit small and the room seemed a little dated, but it’s an older palace and the history is so cool. We would return again! The area around the hotel is okay, it’s just very hard to cross a street as the traffic is insane-but that’s all of Kathmandu.

Fabulous! I’ve never been disappointed yet in the many times I’ve stayed there. It’s always a memorable experience staying at Shanker Hotel. Beautiful architecture, great garden and outdoor pool, and absolutely wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. If you’ve never been to Kathmandu before then this is the place to stay. You won’t regret it!!!

Having been a former palace for one of the ruling families, the ambience is very special and sets aside Shanker Hotel from other hotel. It has a beautiful park-like greenery with a pool. Tough it is very close to the city centre, it is totally quiet and peaceful. This was my third visit
