Staff had excellent communication with us and made sure all the details for check-in were communicated and understood prior to our arrival, which made the process so much easier. "I had an amazing experience. I accidentally booked the wrong day, but the man at the front desk was extremely helpful and let me stay in an open room. This was at midnight, and his attitude was great. He also gave me some information about the island, how to get around, and which sites to see. He also shuttled us to the airport the next morning for our scheduled car rental pick up. Amazing amazing staff. The room itself was spacious and warm with a sink in the room. Everything was very clean and pleasant. I snacked on their free pretzels for breakfast. One of the best stays I’ve had in all my travelling."

"Definitely not what is shown in the pictures. First of all, it’s out in the middle of nowhere bunch of sketchy looking people go there. Bedsheets were dirty with stains. Rooms were extremely small heater didn’t work and the water smelled bad. However, the staff was very kind and polite and the restaurant food is very good"

"We booked Hotel Duus as a last minute stay after flights were canceled in and out of Iceland. The location is great, right on the water, close to restaurants and near a grocery store. This hotel is not staffed, there is no one at the desk, you check yourself in with the code sent to you by email. It is convenient, however, if there is an issue, you are not able to get in touch with anyone except by email. We had 2 rooms, in one room, we were unable to open the door to the patio and there was old noodles in the hot water reservoir of the coffee pot. There was dirt on the bedding, as if the bed was just remade instead of replacing the bedding from the last guests. "
