The Eagle & Child is a cosy characterful pub in a quiet village just outside Kendal. It's our favourite place to stay for visits to relatives in the area. The staff are friendly and welcoming, the rooms clean and cosy with comfortable beds and well equiped bathrooms and the breakfast excellent. This was our third stay and it won't be our last.

Had a very enjoyable stay. Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts and good choice of tasty food at bar and restaurant. Delightful riverside garden. Only downside was that our room was a little small.

Even though it was probably the wettest day of the year, the welcome from the staff at the Eagle and child was warm and friendly. We arrived early and they gave us our room anyways, comfortable pub style rooms, with small but efficient bathroom set-up. Cozy bar with a fire going, great for pre-dinner drinks. We ate out with friends so can't comment on dinner choices but the breakfast was amazing. All in all good value for a comfortable pub stay
