Must visit in Namibia
This was by far my favourite place we stayed in Namibia. The rooms, location and food were all spectacular and the value for money was great, I found the quality to be better than other places we stayed that were double the price. I would recommend people don't make the same mistake we made and stay more than 1 night! I would also recommend requesting to book dinner on top of the cliff on one occasion.

Setting amazing. Good walking trails and going up Eagles Nest for sunset amazing.Good wifi.Nice pools. Food good but limited choice for non meat eaters. As was half board suggest any non meat eaters inform lodge in advance.

Very unique stay. We booked heavens gate and eagles nest restaurant is a must. Be prepared to walk up the mountain to reach your room and restaurant. Truly an amazing experience.

Lovely place and location. The staff is amazing. Food was great. Beautiful grounds and views all around. Nice walks and make sure you reserve the Eagle's Nest for dinner, amazing. They even washed our car.

Great staff. Upgraded our rooms to let our family spread out. Walk to eagles nest is worth it, but be careful of drinking too much because you have to walk down again after dark. Beautiful place with great hosts.

Vingerklip Lodge is a unique, memorable and eclectic place to visit. The views from the chalets are some of the best you will see in Africa, food is of a good standard but the property is elevated by the friendliness and flexibility of the staff. The assistance given to my 81 year old mother was appreciated. Even through very unfit, the climb up the metal staircase to the plateau above the property was a great experience. We were concerned about the lack of air conditioning between 4.00am and 10.00am after 37c days however did not find this a issue. The property does need some updating in the rooms but as covid has hit small business hard, its difficult to criticise, as none were deal breakers. Its also not a good property for people with mobility difficulty as there are many steep slopes and stairs within the hotel property. Overall, I would definitely highly recommend Vingerklip Lodge to anyone travelling in the area for the service, views and experience. After a few trips to Namibia, it may now be my favourite lodge.

Beautiful location! Stephanie, manageress, was friendly, helpful and hospitable!! Refreshing pools! Rooms need some updating with improved septic systems. Chef was exceptional! Will definitely stay in the future again!

Top Namibia experience - but windows need screens
The environment here is surreal! What a gorgeous stay! Adorable (large) chalet, with own patio, looking onto watering hole! They claimed there weren't many animals but we saw at least 1 giraffe and some others. Dinner at Eagles Nest was just incredible! But even if you can't get a table (seats 20), you can walk up there (and you must) for sunset, a drink, and the view. One of our favorite Namibia experiences. Great little pool, wonderful cake (available with complimentary tea and coffee all day). Wifi only in reception area. BUT - no screens on windows so didn't want to leave them open. Room has ac but working on being off grid so solar can't run it yet. Fan and open windows would've been fine. But power went out in whole place for at least 4 hours in the middle of the night, so no fan either. Way too hot to sleep.

Top of the mountain
When I booked the room I didn't realise the room was the one on the top of the hill. It was magic! The view, the room decor, the service at dinner and breakfast, the food, the staff.

Jaw Dropping
I stayed here en route to the Skeleton Coast. I picked it at random from the offers in the area which were fairly limited. As it turned out I made an incredibly lucky choice. The location might seem a little odd initially - about 15km down a gravel road from the C39. It's actually incredible - being a little past the Ugab Terrace which is (I learned) something of an attraction of itself. The lodge sits at the base of a sandstone massif (?) in a broad, fairly flat valley with some very dramatic views. The views alone were worth the trip. My room was effectively half a thatched bungalow. Super comfortable bed and all very clean and private. There was a nice outside deck area where you can sit and watch the sunrise and sunset over the valley. The main lodge has an excellent bar and restaurant. I did only visit the restaurant for breakfast which was very good. For dinner I visited the Eagle's Nest restaurant which is on top of the massif. The views were simply increible, enhanced by a free lightning show after sunset. I was incredibly impressed with Vingerklip. I'd been in Etosha for 3 days where you are effectively car bound. It was nice to go for a short walk around the massif and get back on my feet. I understand there are game on the property although I only saw the one giraffe well off in the distance. There were plenty of antelope spoor on my walk. Staff were great. Location is great. Value for money is incredible. I hope to go back, that's the best I can say.

Die Unterkunft war so nah an der Vingerklip, sodass wir mit Kind einen gemütlichen Spaziergang zum Sundowner machen konnten. Der schöne Abschluss mit zwei Giraffen im Sonnenuntergang war der absolute Hammer. Die Zimmer in der Lodge waren sehr gut ausgestattet und man hat sehr gut in den Betten geschlafen. Das Personal war immer freundlich und der Koch hat ein super Abendessen und Frühstück gezaubert! Selbst der Chef erkundigte sich persönlich nach unserem Wohlergehen! Einen Kinderwagen würde ich in diese Loge nicht mitnehmen, da es viele Stufen gibt. Dafür hat man eine super Aussicht von allen Seiten ins Tal. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Wundeschönes Erlebnis
Die Lodge liegt in einer traumhaften Gegend, am Fuße eines großen Felsens. Die eigentliche Fingerklippe ist in einiger Entfernung sichtbar. Den Felsen kann man besteigen, im oberen Teil über eine abenteuerliche Treppe. Circa 15 Minuten Aufstieg, der sich lohnt. Oben befindet sich ein ausgelagertes Restaurant mit einem spektakulären Blick und hervorragendem Essen. Am besten schon vorab reservieren. Nach einem Besitzerwechsel während COVID wurde die Lodge offenbar renoviert. Sehr schönes Zimmer über zwei Etagen mit eigener Terrasse. Die schönste Unterkunft auf unserer Reise, absolut zu empfehlen.

Wunderschöne Einzelbungalows in die Landschaft integriert, einmalige "Hütte", Nest auf dem Berg für Apero oder auch Abendessen, Megablick, tolles Essen, super für Familien, da es ein paar Familienbungalows gibt, das gibt es eher selten in Namibia, toller Pool, sehr nettes Betreiberpaar, tolle Tipps, viele nette Gäste, tolle Atmosphäre, nette Bar abends

Vielen Dank für die Bewertung. Die Lodge besteht schon seid 25 Jahren und anders als andere Lodges bauen wir nicht jede 10 Jahre eine komplett neue Lodge denn der Impakt auf die Umwelt ist zu hoch, egal wie sie gebaut wird. Seid einem Jahr ist die Lodge unter neuem Managment und seid her wurde schon sehr viel gemacht. Zum Beispiel wurden beide Schwimmbäder komplett renoviert, das Restaurant auf dem Plateau erneuert, die Sundowner Platform inklusive Weg oben auf dem Plateau neu gebaut, den Weg hoch zum Restaurant komplett neu gebaut und abgesichert, fast die ganze Lodge neu angestrichen und den Garten erneuert. Das sind nur die Sachen die man im Vordergrund sieht, denn hinter den Kulissen mussten wir bei den Bungalows neue Wasserrohre legen, die meisten Badezimmer erneuern, haben ein neues Umweltfreundliches Abwasser System angelegt. Aber es gibt immer mehr zu machen, und es sollte nie auffallen das es einen Renovierungsstau gibt.

Traumhafte Lodge
Der Aufenthalt hat allen Erwartungen entsprochen und alles lief hervorragend. Das inbegriffene Frühstück und Abendessen war ebenfalls bestens. Wir waren als fünfköpfige Familie unterwegs und wurden sehr freundlich empfangen. Ein Highlight ist das Abendessen im Eagle‘s Nest.

A great place
One of the nicest places we have ever been to in Namibia. Great bungalows with a view, really great food and an amazing viewpoint on the mountaintop. The two pools however did not look very inviting because the water wasn't clear.

Mehr Schein als Sein. Auf den ersten Blick wunderbar und schön gelegen. Allerdings störten uns mehrere Sachen. Der Müll von den Vorgängern war noch im Zimmer. Es war zwar eine Klimaanlage im Zimmer angebracht, aber angeblich war die Klimaanlage nicht angeschlossen und deswegen bekamen wir keine Fernbedienung. Es war unerträglich heiß nachts. Deshalb musste man Fenster und Türen öffnen, zum Teil ohne oder mit schlecht angebrachten Fliegengittern, aus diesem Grund hatten wir eine riesige Spinne im Zimmer. Die Betten waren extrem hart, das Moskitonetz hatte Löcher. Das Essen war lala, sehr viel Fleisch und ansonsten etwas verkocht. Es ist auch unschön, wenn die Chefin schlecht mit anderen Gästen über ihr Personal redet, obwohl das Personal sehr freundlich war und deutlich höflicher als die Chefin zu uns.

Der Ausblick war atemberaubend. Das Frühstück und das Abendessen hat uns sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Preis-Leistung Verhältnis stimmte überein! Allerdings war die Klimaanlage nicht mit der Elektronik verbunden, was in dieser sehr heißen Gegend sehr bedauerlich war.

Spontan in der sehr gute Vingerklip Lodge
Sehr schöne Lage beim Vingerklip. Für das Abendessen besteht die Möglichkeit, dieses auf dem etwas höher gelegenen Eagles Nest einzunehmen. Von dort hat man eine Wunderbare Aussicht auf die Umgebung. Sehr schöner Sonnenuntergang und Sonnenaufgang.

We stayed in the suite. The views were absolutly stunning! You could even enjoy the views while taking a shower. It has a small bath attached to the room. That was a bit cold, and it's not a swimming pool. But still, it was nice to sit in it for a little while. The terrace has a table, chairs, and sunbeds. The bed is big and we had a good sleep in it. The chef in Eagles Nest prepared us something vegetarian on request. It was very good. The room is situaded on a mountain, so it's a long walk up (about 15 minutes), but our suitcases were brouhgt with a cable carrier. We could also have breakfast in Eagles Nest, so we didn't have to go down and up again to the restaurant.
