"We had food in the bar. It was really good, large portions very tasty, would highly recommend. We stayed in room 7. It was clean, spacious and had everything we needed. There was no air con however. The room needed the windows open to keep the temperature down,however just outside the window was a very loud extractor fan which kept up awake. It stopped later on not exactly sure what time, but started again very early. The hosts however were lively, good craic, and did everything in their power to accommodate and ensure you had a pleasant stay. Even though that particular room had that issue it would not pur me off staying again or recommending to someone to stay."

"Arrived slightly early, parked the car with ease and pleasantly surprised that our room was ready for us and we were able to check in. The family room was compact and ‘surface’ clean. Under the beds, cushions, throws and the shower definitely had not had any housekeeping attention for some time. We were please that there was a decent fan and coffee making facilities in the room, along with a hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Overall, beds were comfortable and the shower pressure was decent. Breakfast was in buffet format, a separate menu was available to order from, but good luck catching a member of staff! Seriously lacking in numbers, but very polite and helpful when you can pin one down for anything. On the whole, our stay was for convenience and it achieved that."

"We booked this at the last minute as we were travelling up to the Scottish borders and wanted to break the journey due to the extreme heat. We arrived very late (about 11pm) but we had called the hotel in advance and one of the staff agreed to wait for us. When we did arrive we were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our one regret is that we didn't have time to make use of the observatory (yes you read that right!) All staff very friendly and helpful and loved the breakfast"

"Picked this hotel as an overnight stop and was delighted with an impeccably clean, well-appointed room. Staff were very welcoming and attentive. Dinner in the restaurant was delicious, breakfast options to suit all appetites setting guests up for the day. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a base from which to explore the area"
