"This was ideal for me. I loved it here. It was really peaceful. I couldn't hear a thing apart from the birds and the occasional sheep. I stayed for 4 days and I wished it could have been longer. There is no TV in the hut which also suits me to the ground. The wi-fi is excellent so if you do want to watch something on an I pad or tablet you will have no problem with the reception. There was a nice touch with tea making facilities and scones provided for the 4 days that I was there. I cannot...

"We had an amazing overnight stay at the Annex. Nancy, the host, could not have been more welcoming, informative and helpful. The cottage was ideal for our particular needs - a rather last minute booking - and very clean and well equipped throughout. It was beautifully warm, and the property is set deep in a very beautiful part of lovely Exmoor. Would highly recommend this cosy cottage for a couple and reasonably priced as well. "

"The hotel is looking a little worse for wear unfortunately and our room was particulary run down. The chair springs had gone and when I sat on it I practically sank through. That being said the room was clean. Only one hand towel for two people. The TV did not work well at all. The decor is very worn and the silicone around the toilet was grim and brown. The staff were always helpful and the hotel incredibly busy and well used. I hope it is going to be renovated at some stage."

"The staff were excellent, we were greeted with friendly courtesy every time. The breakfast was excellent with a great range of choices. The room was interesting with a very comfortable bed with clean bedding. The bathroom was clean and had everything we needed, although it would have been nice to have had large bath towels. The only real criticism I would have is that the carpet and curtains in our room were absolutely filthy, the latter had a huge coffee/tea stain on the bottom. There was visible dust on the furniture but, in their defence, the furniture was dark wood which is likely to show every speck of dirt. Much of the decor was rather gothically gloomy but I presume that was intended to be in keeping with the period feel of the building. For an overnight stop in Exeter it was perfectly adequate and was very central which was useful. It was great to have a car park right opposite the hotel."

"We had a nice stay here. Very handy for a bus into Exeter or Tiverton. Rooms and public toilets were clean but needing to be updated, very tired. The staff were nice and helpful but with the amount of visitors they were at times overwhelmed. This caused a long wait at the bar at times to be served. Breakfast and evening meals were excellent."

"Another great stay at this Hotel. It is spotlessly clean and all the staff go out of their way to be helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and it is a lovely and peaceful location. We had breakfast and an evening meal which were excellent. Only comment is that some of the fixtures are beginning to look a little tired but this would not stop us from returning"
